I think I saw it as heckling because it started before we even set up, he was dissin' on our merch table display, and because the level of encouragement he was generating was WAY BEYOND even liking the music (uh...we hadn't even plugged everything in an he was chanting "THE TASTE OF SILVER THE TASTE OF SILVER". I've never seen him at ANY of our shows, and we don't have a big enough crowd for him to be lossed in the fray...). He made it fairly implausible that I would be able to do what I do as a musician appropriately by preventing me from: using the mic, using my guitar, standing up straight, paying attention, hearing the rest of the instruments, or keeping my instrument in tune. I got punched, though not hard, but what the fuck? Come on, it's not like we're Blood For Blood or something. We hadn't even played the FIRST SONG.

That said, I'm not mad at him. But he was totally out of control and I think he should have been a little more conciencious of how his actions would affect the performer, or a friend should have spoken with him and said "hey relax a little, guy".

It's one thing to have fun and go apey; it's another thing to completely prevent the musicians from having fun THEMSELVES or even playing the song.
