the whole idea for this show was awesome. 5 bands upstairs and then a tour down stairs with no opener. sort of like what the webaster theater does, but the bands dont play at the same time.
thank you to sylvia and joy for letting me in and george for the photopass.

invocation of nehek: I ran in for the last two songs they got to play. short, but it was cool to see them at the palladium finally. Rob's arm looked pretty bad ass after his 10 man gang bang. brenden looked no worse for the ware. speaking of him, this was the first time I got to see ION with him on bass. no flips, but it sounded good. there were also no backup vocals.

blistered earth: I watch the drummer play almost an entire song with a broken snare, making sure not to hit the broken part of the snare head. there was a large group of kids in the front row for them, head banging hard.

the hostage heart: I had no clue that they were playing this show. it was a bonus when I saw them on the schedule. At one point during their set, nate's guitar flip turned unplugged himself.

death before dishonor: when I heard that dbd was on this show, I decided that I had to go and see them at the palladium. before they started, frankie was no where to be found and rob (STF) was up on stage. at the last minute he ran in and picked up the bass.

since the flood: it was so dumb, 90% of the crowd lamed out of seeing stf and went down stairs to wait for 45 minutes in front of the empty main stage. completely lame! this was basically the same set they played the last time I saw them, you know, the "new song" and the buried alive cover song.

the haunted: they actually played a bunch of old songs. I'm not a big fan of the new cd, but I like all against all (which I think is the "single"). off the new cd, they only played one track that I didn't like. they even played a track off in vain. the singer was a different person from who I remember. he looked a lot like the singer of cattle decapitation and sounded a bit more like randy (lamb of god).

damage plan: for some reason I knew two of the non-pantra songs. I think it;s cause they play they at the palladium in between bands. Their music sounds how I can only describe as "devil driver". in other words, this is the "they were bad" part as jay TUS said. they were really really bad. like adult-loud rock bad. Anyhow, they played a song called "fuck you". which they began with asking people if there was someone they hated.. I didn't want to say "this bad", but I was thinking it.. especially when they were throwing drinks into the crowd and totally covered frankie (dbd). the redeming value for that track was that the drummer was really good and the drums sounded awesome. they played some title song from their last cd and then in the middle, the lights when out and dimebag started a solo. it was a lot more about him pausing and band standing for the audience rather than a straight solo, which sort of sucked... they came in with him in the middle of the solo and then when he was done, the band came back on and then got the audience to cheer a bunch. the last 2 songs they did were covers of pantera. the first one was kind of queered up by the singing. the second, walk went on for 10+ minutes with them stopping and jumping into the crowd during the breaks. finally, they came down and they stopped. I totally forgot about them sucking while they were playing walk. some of shadows fall and blistered earth and others sang along with them.
