I’m interested in starting a new band with people unafraid to infringe on their own creative form and
existing form of music. I’m 20 and live/go to school in Boston. I have 6 years experience being involved
in several bands/projects, playing shows and setting up some shows. I own a PA, as well. What I feel I’d
be best at/most interested in doing is a range of different styles, somehow thrown together. Dirty, thick,
dirge (Godflesh, Amebix, Tragedy, Dystopia), old school hc (Void, Negative Approach), crossover (Die
Kreuzen, Born Against, Rorschach), sludge/stoner (Sabbath, Sleep, Isis), and rock/experimental/noise
(Husker Du, Embrace, Sonic Youth, Swans, The Birthday Party). There are plenty of other styles/bands
I’m into. I wouldn’t want to sound exactly like any of these bands, I just namedrop so you get me a little
more. A bit calculated, I know, but something along these lines can happen. I’m interested in seeing
others’ interpretation of this and what they have to bring to the table (their own ideas). I know a guitarist
who may do this, but 2 guitars would probably be even better, I think. I’m willing to travel outside of
Boston/Boston area if its possible, as well. Let me know if you’re interested at all, even if you’re not into
all of this (unless you’re a scenester not in this for the music). Don’t ask why I’m posting here. Just
figured, what the fuck. This is serious for me, but of course I’d like to have fun with it too. Thank you for
your time.
