so I remembered why I don't go to outdoor fests in the middle of the summer. It's hot and everyone is pretty miserable. There are too many people and you can't get anywhere near the band playing. The people around you are louder than the band. Tattoo the Earth back in 2000 taught me a lesson but I must have forgotten. Luckily we didn't have to pay for this shitstorm.

Anyways, Kailyn and I left a bit too late and got there for BDM's last song. Only Sharon Osbourne would start a fest at 9:15AM.

Black Dahlia Murder: for the one song I caught, they sounded good. Wish I could have seen them play a new track.

The Haunted: Came back from across the entire place to catch the last song once again. shitty! agh.

Bury Your Dead: Man, I gotta say their material is horrible. There is no substance to the music what-so-ever. It's just breakdown after breakdown *shake head* *jump up and down* another breakdown. They somehow have their own tour bus with their faces on the side of it and the rest of the 2nd stage bands have rented bus's. How odd that the haunted has had a song called 'Bury Your Dead' since like 1999...hmmmmm.

Mastodon: sounded really good, and played some good tracks. Probably the highlight of what I got to see of 2nd stage.

Killswitch Engage: saw part of a song then went to sit in the shade. Adam still wearing his cut offs. haha jesus.

Rob Zombie: his new shit is gay, but I heard him play a couple white zombie tracks which was tolerable.

Black Label Society: Zack Wylde, Shut up and play guitar, your vocals suck! Actually his guitar playing isn't all that interesting in BLS all together.

In Flames: Wish they played more old stuff, wasn't digging the setlist at all. Nu-metal is dead, please realize this guys.

Shadows Fall: Kinda wierd seeing these dude's all huge now and going on after IN FLAMES. The entire PA shut off halfway through their set for like 10 seconds so all you could hear was their stage volume which was nothing from up on the lawn. After that the PA didn't sound the same or as loud.

Mudvayne: HOLY SHIT, THIS WAS THE GAYEST POINT OF THE DAY. I couldn't fucking stand these guys, if Iron Maiden wasn't after these fags I would have walked out after the first note played. I saw that a few people in the 'rttp scene' had them listed as music they listened too and was like uhhh what? So I was thinking maybe they had changed and became good somehow? Nope, instead they became gayer and have shitty lyrics and even worse vocals. AGH I can't get over how horrible that shit was 2 days later. It made me even angrier seeing the 'I just got a tribal tat for my 18th b-day' tattoo'd guys rocking out to them knowing all the lyrics.

Iron Maiden: No doubt the best part of the day. It was still light out, but it was still awesome. I wish we had just skipped the entire day and showed up right before them. Played almost all the tracks I wanted to hear to make this day worth it. Bruce is hillarious!

Black Sabbath: stayed for one song, there was no way ozzy was going to top Iron Maiden.

It's gonna take a lot to get me to another one of these things even if I don't have to pay again.
