darkane: they were the reason that I conviced myself to head out to the show. after all the lack of sleep, I couldn't justify missing them. the last time I remember them being in the USA was somewhere around 00-01 and I missed it. one of the guitarists looked familiar. he spent most of his time out in front, inches from te crowd. they had to share a bus with syl. I'm surprised they all fit on one bus. they have 4 CDs out now. I wished that they played all of rusted angel, but that wasn't to be. the singer's vocals were perfect. it sounded just like the CD and whenever there was not singing to be done, he would run off stage and wait for his part, giving the rest of the band the spot light. unfortunately, they weren't head lineing so their set was mega short.

strapping young lad: insert loooooooong sound check and set up time... gr... their set is like a speed metal train wreck.. it is poetry in motion. this was a weird performance even for them. devon said all the normally absurd townsend things, but it was just weird. he kept telling the crowdthat they were a different location (ike phoenis). tere are also a large amount of middle fingering from the stage. even Gene Hoglan (drummer) was into te flipping off and he looked genuinely issed off in between songs. anyone, their set was awesome, music wise. I only noticed one thing. that was the vocals being wicked loud during the last song. at one point, they busted out wit a nu-metal riff tat turned into a meshuggah riff... I thought that they were joking, but it was some song that I didn't know. knew that ther 2nd or 3rd song was from city. those songs (imho) are their most creative and having the most going on during them, but then never end... and when they do, it's more like a clifhanger.
