thank you to powerglove and stoic for talking things through with lionel. he wasn't going to let me in and then finally gave up or whatever. then he was nice to me after that.

powerglove: damn now that was fucking awesome. pure unadulterated video game goodness. they told you all the themes before they played the song. that ruled. it also my me realize that I need to play guilty gear. I thought that they were going to have an 9-foot bat or something... but I didn't see it. they also had lighting stuff, but they probably didn't have enough time to set it all up. they played so many good games music and makes me joes for a PS3 and dreamcast. all the metalman stuff was the clincher. one thing that I always did was playing metal and industrial along with the games so this matched. the one thing I would have liked was the synths to be live and a bassplayer. give a little more going on on the stage.

stoic: I think I would have taken the crowd from last night and the sound from tonight. they still had some nu-metal-ish parts to some songs, but it sounded a lot more like diecast today. they also hve all these parts to the music that are ambient which (taken by themselves) would sound a lot more like space rock. I think this is the bungle/faith no more influence of modern musics that people mentioned a few days ago. they wer just as high energy tonight as they were last night except they had the good system to back them up. I was trying to figure out why some of the guitar players sound came out not metalcore, but with a metalcore tone to them. I think it's the mesa gear, but what the hell do I know about musical instruments. the afore mentioned "ambient" parts were mostly driven by the bassplayer. I was really surprised when I would be hearing whispy/echoey guitars and the guitarist wouldn't be doing anything, but the bassist would be playing down on the highstrings through like 12981 pedals. in the end, I'm going to go with my comparasion that I think I made last night to fall from grace. the singer should get a wireless mic.

stillrize: they were a alt-rock band. I listened to one song thinking it sounded like stone temple pilots and then they did an acustic STP song. I shot a couple more pictures are ran out.
