I guess I should have elaborated more and stated my intention for drawing such a parallel between the head cutters and Abu Garib. Nick Berg's story was essentially swept under the rug. The shear magnitude of barbarity was never truthfully expressed by the mass media. In contrast, Abu garib has been fucking everywhere. There has a been a fight to get as many new photos on the cover of as many magazines as possible. All this does is incite the enemy and offer images for Al Qaeda recruitment flyers. Insted, shouldn't we be showing the beheadings and saying "this is who we are fighting! this is the enemy!" ? Winning the propaganda war is just as important as the war it self, and plastering Abu Garib while hiding the beheadings is 1 point for them and -1 for us.

Nick Berg was one person captured by a regional resistance group.

Abu Ghraib is a glimpse of system wide torture authorized by the world's only superpower. A superpower which claims to be a beacon of freedom and hope for oppressed people around the world yet has a secret prison system set up to deny those oppressed people freedom and torture them to death. Slightly more "hitlarian" than the hostage situations.

That is why Abu Ghraib is a bigger story.
