Hmmm...what's cooler...a typical bully villain in black armor (Black Knight) who is such a moron that he kills half his best generals and loses because he can't control his emo? Or a unique villain that can predict enemy tactics through cultural artwork, that was only killed because Zahn needed a way to write him out (and, gee, that turned out to be Vader's fault too!) When I was five, I'd pick the former. But these days I have to side with creativity and Timothy Zahn.
