MINSK are nearing the completion of the recording of their Relapse debut full-length. The Chicago / Peoria, IL quartet (bassist / vocalist Sanford Parker, drummer Anthony Couri, guitarist / vocalist Chris Bennett and vocalist / synth player Tim Mead) have been holed up at Parker's Volume Recording studio (PELICAN, UNEARTHLY TRANCE) where they have been tracking for weeks. Mix down for the album is currently scheduled to happen over the later half of September. The as-yet-untitled Relapse debut is scheduled for an early 2007 release. Parker comments, "The new album is coming along very well. The process of working on this album has been really exciting. The writing of this album has challenged us to explore some new territory and participate in the creation of something even more progressive and more organic than we've done before." MINSK is also preparing for a two-week string of Midwest and Western U.S. dates as part of the forthcoming Relapse Records Contamination Tour 2006 with UNEARTHLY TRANCE, FACEDOWNINSH*T and F*CK THE FACTS. MINSK will also support BRUTAL TRUTH at the first of their newly-announced reunion shows at Chicago’s Double Door as part of the Electric City Rockfest. A full listing of tour dates can be found in the tour section. Additionally, the band will also be contributing to the upcoming EYEHATEGOD tribute, For The Sick, with their rendition of “Ruptured Heart Theory.” For more information on MINSK, please visit the band’s official website: www.TheSoundofMinsk.com and MySpage page: www.myspace.com/MINSK.
