no of course not. my point was that things are pretty goddamn comfortable in the US, which is where these troops come from, no one is invading us, we had one "attack" 5 years ago that killed 3,000 people, and of course was horrible, but to compare that to what these people have been dealing with for the last half century you quickly see they have had it quite a bit rougher, and regardless of what you believe they believe they are fighting a just war for their lives, they are being invaded/opressed/etc and they fully believe they have god on their side. it's hard to fuck with those motivations to kill and quite frankly no i don't believe that most american troops, who have no fucking excuse being over there in the first place, have half the stones these fuckers have when it comes to war. yea it's easy to drop a shitload of bombs and kill 650,000 innocent iraqi civilians (which is how many we have killed since the war started), compared to the suspected/estimated 40,000 total "insurgents", and the 3,000 US troops who have died over there, but it's another thing when you take away flac jackets and night vision goggles and it's just 2 groups of guys in the harsh desert shooting at eachother. this is the reality of imperialism. it's always been going on and probably always will. likewise i don't think the fucking ancient romans were anywhere near as hard as the germans they fought when they invaded germany, but being the biggest superpower on earth gives you unfair resources. and even with all these resources we couldn't "win" vietnam, just as we can't "win" iraq. you can't just change peoples minds who hate you. you can surpress them temporarily, but if someone wants to kill you bad enough there's fucking nothing you can do from trying to except killing them all. and doesn't anyone stop to think for a fucking second about the fact that we invaded a sovereign nation, violating the united nations, and repeatedly violate the geneva convention, and people suggest options like nuke/kill the entire country, like "oh fuck, now it's a headache having invaded this sovereign country, fuck it lets just kill them all". how would you feel if say, china invaded the US, tried to make us all communist, got pissed when we didn't agree, and nuked the whole country killing all of us? there is no fucking difference.
