Yeah you spend alot of time searching for that perfect gear that's gonna get that amazing sound but so much of a guitarist/bassist's tone comes from the fingers. Great players can make a p.o.s. shit instrument or amp setup sound versatile and good.

People should spend as much time getting their technique down as they do obsessing over what gear to play. (This is more a criticism to myself than anything)

My shitty Tama kit sounded better than a lot of more expensive kits i heard when playing out on local shows and such...but it's all in the heads, tuning, and most importantly the way i play
Case in point, the new kit i got is by no means a bank breaker but sounds better than a lot of kits i've heard recently
