Seriously though: the kinds of diversity you're talking about are an inescapable fact of life MAYBE unless you're talking about insular island societies like pre-nowadays Japan. Whether it's Norse, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, African, Asian, whatever societies, travel and cultural interchance has always been a fact of life.

On the other hand, if you're using the word "diversity" to mean "not concentrating power in the hands of a specific minority," just be honest about it.
