"Prosecutor Wayne Margolis had requested $5,000 bail, saying Simpson showed a total disregard for the situation she was in — an airport after the 2001 terrorist attacks."

So if she walked into the airport before 9/11/01 with the thing on her shirt, no one would have thought twice about it.
I love how any unusual device involving wires or electricity in any way is now automatically a bomb.
I understand security has to be tight in an airport but this is just like that whole thing in Boston last year with the ATHF ads. Authorites check the shit out and find out its harmless but still go ape shit over it, making arrests and trying to punish whoever owns the device as if they deliberately intended to cause terror.

i agree with you in part, but i think this girl was trying to get attention and cause trouble, whereas the athf things i think were meant to be unique advertisements and not bomb jokes.
