the show was pretty awesome. lots of people there. plenty of good friends.
toxic holocaust was great, sounded killer. crazy seeing them play for 30 people in pvd to go to downstairs palladium. i encouraged a tie died grateful dead wearing hippy to move the fuck out of the way since he wasn't headbanging. headbanging is the law when you are up front. if you're not doing it, don't be there. same goes for all those faggots with long hair who still havn't figured out how to headbang - get out of metal.
municipal waste was meh. sloppy and boring on a big stage-but yeah, luckily it's fun watching fans go nuts, sweet circle pit!
darkest hour. what was up with those soap boxes with knock off metallica lil dudes carved into them? that was weird. i felt bad for them, following up against two bands that have really paved a way for fashion to out a way of actually being credibility. those lights made me not look at the stage and kinda hid the fact that they suck at rocking out, clearly they havn't seen enough KISS or Judas Priest footage.
At The Gates was exceptional. Very strong set. Other than them not being young and not having the energy of the past, they were terrific. Yes, the leads were lost in the mix but overall it was satisfactory. Great range of material. Woulda loved to hear Like An Ever Opening Flower though. OH WELL! Windows...Kingdom Gone...All Life Ends...THANK YOU AT THE GATES. Quite obvious that more than half the crowd still doesn't have the early albums since SOS material was definately the favorite.
