A Moth to a Flame

She danced wildly for him.
Oh, what a show to behold !
Drawing him near with her beauty,
Her aura, her heat.

He couldn't resist,
This wonder he'd seen.
The one he'd longed for,
From a past time before.

They met against a blanket of night.
She shined ever brightly,
He couldn't resist temptation.
It was then, that they met once again.

She accepted him apprehensively,
Wondering where he had been.
Who else had danced for him?
Did he linger with enjoyment?

Forgetting her force,
Her God-given fury,
She let him in to her world.
He was more than delighted !

Ever so gentle, she cradled him.
He lye comfortably in her warmth.
She knew he would be gone soon,
But she cared not for future reference.

Enjoying the hum of his voice, the buzz.
All was perfect here in this moment.
The fuzz upon his wing, color in his eyes.
She lost herself in the beauty of him.

Unaware of his natural intention,
This flame embraced this insect.
Forgetful of previous losses,
She thought that he would forever be.

Unaware of his past flames,
She welcomed this moth into her world.
Like opening the door for a stranger,
She let him in again.

This passionate flame loved hard,
Ill intentions from the past put aside,
She trusted him now for some reason,
Her loneliness she could not hide.

The stay of this moth would be short.
Boredom would soon set in.
He would tire of her light,
Her warmth and her embrace.

Soon there will come a new flame,
One that will burn bright, with more fury.
He will flutter to this newcomer,
And love her just the same.

Alone she remains now.
He has flown to another,
Just as his nature intended.
She will never burn as bright,

As she did with him that night.
