It makes the story fit better and you'll appreciate it more. FarCry 2 was a good enough game, but it got annoying after a while how FUCKING LOOOONG it would take to get from one place to another without using the bus stops, on top of being attacked almost nonstop no matter where you go. It would have been more interesting if you had ways to manipulate, bribe, support or be supported by the different factions in the game.
