As you well know, every Patriots game is gigantic from this point on. The Patriots haven't played the Bears in 4 years, and they're hardly our rivals. But let me put the Bears in perspective for you.

Super Bowl XLI: Bears vs. Colts

Peyton Manning's destiny was supposed to be going down as our generation's Dan Marino: record holder extraordinaire, no Super Bowl rings. Defense is supposed to win championships and the Bears had Brian Urlacher, Charles Tillman, Nate Vasher, Lance Briggs, Tank Johnson all on their roster when it actually mattered. They had the 5th ranked defense in the league, and put up 40 sacks in the regular season. They had the best give/take turnover ratio in the league despite Rex Grossman throwing 20 INTs that season.

And they put 7 men in coverage the whole game, coughed up 250 yards underneath to Peyton Manning, let Domenic Rhodes (of all people) run for 113 yards, and even with the game on the line refused to pressure the quarterback. It was a winable game, and they came out in the second half with a game plan that was basically for the defense to lay down and die, while Rex Grossman dueled it out with Peyton Manning essentially handing the Colts the trophy.

Fuck Lovie Smith and fuck the Bears.

All truth BTW. The Pats would have kicked the fuck out of the Bears that year if they just held on in the AFC game.
