Regardless of whether or not it's annoying to the bookers (though it is), the fact is that desperation is not attractive in most any context. Sometimes it's harmless to ask, and certainly this board isn't a bad place to network, but constant asking is basically like saying "No one is interested in booking my band, we haven't bothered to network and trade shows with other bands, but we're available to play any time, any where, with any lineup." It shouldn't be any great surprise that this might leave some people with the impression that you can't draw and aren't worth booking.
