Baseball is a matter of trends more than overall stats. After a season of chronicling baseball stats for broadcasting I found it really surprising how often I could predict what a guy was going to do over the course of a game. Football also has a much higher injury rate and personnel turnover than any other sport making cumulative stats tough to gauge for relevancy.
