Normally I'd throw this on the Coolidge event thread but I thought this deserved its own!
UHF
Fri & Sat, March 22 & 23
bennyhillifier
1hr 37mins // directed by:Jay Levey // featuring:'Weird Al' Yankovic, Michael Richards, Fran Drescher
It's crazy. It's zany. It's hysterical. It's TV according to "Weird" Al Yankovic!
Harvey Bilchik (Stanley Brock) wins Channel 62, a faltering UHF television station, in a poker game and decides to give control of it to his unemployed nephew, George Newman ("Weird" Al Yankovic). George and his friend Bob (David Bowe) meet the Channel 62 staff including receptionist and wannabe reporter Pamela Finklestein (Fran Drescher), midget photojournalist and cameraman Noodles MacIntosh (Billy Barty), the eccentric technician Philo (Anthony Geary), and janitor Stanley Spadowski (Michael Richards) who was recently unjustly fired from rival VHF station Channel 8.
Through Harvey's wild and zany ideas for television shows, such as "Wheels of Fish" and "Raul's Wild Kingdom", brings Channel 62 to new heights, but at what cost? Join us in celebrating the "brilliance" of "Weird" Al Yankovic as we screen this "classic" film on 35mm, scratches and "all".
