The Walking Dead front is still very much quiet but some new news on characters we will and will not be seeing in Season 2 of Walking Dead have hit the web.
We still do not have solid confirmation on when it will be coming or what storyline to expect but Laurie Holden did confirm that we will see Hershels Farm and meet the sword wielding Michone in Season 2.
Frank Darabonte also told USA Today that The Governor would not likely appear in Season 2 which frankly makes sense since no doubt they want to work with AMC to line up a Season 3 of The Walking Dead.
Walking Dead Season 2 Darabont has revealed would take us into the second book and introduce some of the fantastic winter visuals that Volume 2 of Walking Dead did so well.
Walking Dead Season 2 will be 13 episodes as opposed to the 6 episodes in the first season.
Although there is still no confirmation early buzz has Season 2 airing in July rather then October to help boost an otherwise flat period in AMC’s ratings.
Frankly I think that it is becoming clear this wont be happening since we are slowly running down the clock on the amount of time it will take them just to shoot and assemble the show for a July airing date. Either way July or October Walking Dead Season 2 is going to be the highlight of my TV watching this year.

I love this show, but you are right. I like the characters a lot, but they tend to jump into it too much. I would like to see more zombies/gore/violence this season. I got the picture on all the characters now. Needs moar goare. |

The show follows suit of the comic in the sense that there is a lot of build up to the gore. Lots of inter-personal relationship building, suspense building and things of such nature before things really go to hell and walkers get blasted.
Stoked that this got picked for for 13 episodes this time around. Glad Michonne is going to be introduced too, key characters need to show up so they can wipe out these other assholes that have nothing to do with the general story line. |

Watch The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer!
"After one of the longest lines that I've ever been a part of at Comic-Con (the Ballroom 20 "Lineageddon") AMC held a Q&A panel for their ferociously great series - based on Robert Kirkman's tragic comic books - The Walking Dead. Producers Frank Darabont and Gale Anne Hurd were on hand along with cast members Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Jon Bernthal, Steven Yeun, Laurie Holden, Jeffrey DeMunn, and Norman Reedus.
The big draw here, aside from the cast, was the debut of the official Season 2 trailer – which is totally badass! It's nothing at all like that single zombie-killing scene that aired with the Breaking Bad premiere. This was epic. The words "The End of Civilization Was Just the Beginning" really hit home. Plus, there's a nice shot of Hershel's farm at the end! Check it out..."

This trailer went over so well that they played it twice for the stoked crowd on hand. The Q&A panel that followed was a bit of a love-fest. This show, in just six episodes has gained a very rabid following. Kirk man himself wanted to thank AMC for taking a risk on a zombie show. "You gotta hand it to AMC for being a network with a vision to try something this crazy," he said. He then continued by saying that he never thought his comic series would become a TV show. "I was kind of the mind that it would never ever be a television show. Because it is so dark. The idea of the show is that people get eaten and torn apart."
"So we can all see some of the things that await us in Season 2 from the trailer – and that's good because Darabont, Hurd and Kirkman were all very tight-lipped about it. Kirkman did say that the stakes are definitely raised. "There's a bit of pressure," he said. "There's an expectation now. It's just made everyone work harder. It's empowered us to try harder. To cross more lines, to tell bigger stories, knowing that there is a rabid fanbase out there." When a fan asked who the producers would cast as the possibly upcoming comic book characters Tyreese, The Governor and Michonne, Kirkman made a joke by saying "Ed O'Neill, Ed O'Neill and Ed O'Neill." He then laughed and said that it's a good thing he doesn't do the casting because he'd just cast actors he liked and wanted to hang out with. "

Too many gay feelings and not enough gore. The talking to Jesus in the church was painful. I did like when they cut open the zombie to check the guts -- nicely done. |

In the comics hershels son shoots Carl accidentally aiming for the deer. We see Rick running with Carl to Hershels in the trailer so I guess we know what's coming... Which is awesome |

i actually really enjoyed the season 2 premier...set it up nicely. plenty of gore for the non-artsy fans IMO.
I enjoyed this episode more than any of last seasons I think and am more excited for new episodes than I ever was after an episode from last season. |

I read several of the comics a few years back based on a recommendation from the dude in the store, coulddnt find the next few issues so lost interest. I don't know what manjew is talking about, I thought the art was well-done.
As for this episode, I liked it and will continue to watch. The only thing I'll say is that whoever did the casting for this show should be fired, most of these people are incredibly unlikeable, especially the black-haired woman. |

I enjoyed the first episode of season 2 a lot. They're doing a good job creating tense moments. When they were all hiding under the cars and the heard walked through I yelled “oh fuck” when the black dude cut open his arm. I don't remember the last movie that got me so enveloped in a scene. The new season of Dexter has been pretty fantastic so far too. Sunday nights rule. |

I think it was to point out that even though they were zombies, those were people that Herschel and his family knew, and they deserved to be burned as a whole. Sort like a last respects thing. |

Such an intense show. I did notice the hand cutting but remember the crew in the first season walked around covered to not get any zombie membrane on them? That idea got ditched quick. I wouldn't necessarily call waiting until 40 minutes into the episode for something to actually happen "picking up". More like "desperately trying to keep the viewers interested".
The more I read of the graphic novels, the more I'm realizing that this series isn't translating so well from one format to the other. In my opinion, of course. |

I'm veeery curious to see how the prison plays out in the show, because there are SO many characters in the comics that aren't in the show (yet, anyway) and a lot of what happens at the prison revolves around them.
I can only hope that T-Dog takes Tyrese's role and start wailing on bitches with a hammer. |

True. I don't mind the departure from the plot as much as the characters though. Andrea and Carol are ridiculously different in the show than in the comics. Darryl doesn't even exist in the comics, and yet he's probably the best character on the show.
Lori pretty much sucks in both, but I don't find her eye-gougingly obnoxious in the comics like I do in the show. |

When she was standing on the porch yelling for Carl, as if he was just going to pop his head out from around the corner and say "Hey maw, I'm right here," I was hoping a zombie managed to get on that porch and chew her face clean off. |

idk why people didn't just go into the house. The zombies pretty much left the house alone after the people scattered. |

i liked how all the cars just magically showed up at the same spot on the highway at the end of the show. figured they would at least make it interesting with some separate story lines going into the next season. |

I'm not surprised they ended up together on the highway, but I did find it weird that they all managed to pull up at the exact same time when none of the 3 vehicles were together in the morning. |

it didn't show him. reloading, but kept cutting away so I assumed they didn't show the reloading cause that isn't interesting. My shot gun from RE5 held 11 shells I think.
Also, there were only 2 groups of cars that met up since darryl already found the glenn. Plus, they all showed up at the one way point they all had outside the farm, where they left the note/food. |
