seriously this article is really stupid. why is it that people get so insulted when some extreme metal band gets more attention than usual? these people work hard to write and record songs, why shouldn't they get paid for it? who gives a fuck?

this article refers to black metal as "elitism". bull shit. most of these black metal groups spent their time posing and posturing in the woods in makeup taking pictures of each other for their albums, trying real hard to look as evil as possible. are these elitist activities? and a lot of shit they said in their interviews was far from elite. a lot of these people seemed to have the intelligence of 12 year old kids.
the only reason i can see for calling black metal elite is the classical music influence in some of thier song writing. bands like emperor and burzum liked classical music; made them seem really high class. elitists. whatever. bard faust and varg vikernes are both in jail now for stabbing people to death and/or burning churches. doesn't sound very elite to me. highly entertaining, but not elite
these so called "true" black metallers are just mad that cradle of filth and dimmu borgir are succeeding with their music and they're still jerking each other off in a garage somewhere, broke.
and please don't think i'm some kid that thinks cradle of filth is the only black metal band around. i am a huge fan of bands like burzum, emperor, bathory, hellhammer, venom, etc...
i'm not saying i'm in favor of selling yourself so some fat bussinessman can get rich. but if that's what you wanna do, fuck it, i don't care. all i give a fuck about is can you write a good song? i think cradle of filth can, and i could give less than a shit about their image, or their political ideologies.

makes a good point, but i like all of amorphis' post-tales from the thousand lakes albums more than the generic sounding stuff they did before. it was good, but it wan't very unique. tales was a good album, but elegy blows it away in my opinion. last time i checked, amorphis wasn't popular with "lincoln biscuit" kids, although that may have changed recently. it seems like those kids are into everything now.

I think the point of the article Malettey is that black metal was cooler when it was still underground. But the same goes for any style of music just starting out. As soon as a big record company gets wind of its popularity they start pushing watered down versions of whatever genre theyre promoting in order to appeal to a wider audience.

Again i dont like COF but that does not make it a bad band.. Anyone can shag off to Dani filth as much as they want.

Secondly this article doesnot belong here and was not written for this site at all. Anyone doing so is seriously infringing on intellectual property....

Finally please.... Rock and roll is supposed to be fun.... Live and let live...lets not judge who is stupid and stuff.. especially not by a fan of COF.
