Still dont have a good computer up and running, and I cant login on this laptop for some reason. (prolly cuz it sux)
I customed the fuck outta my Ibanez rgt42 and Im gonna post some pics soon, but I must explain before any of you pass premature judgement.

First let me start by saying , FUCK FUCK FUCK.

Talk about a paIN in the bag, Ibanez and EMG arent made to work together, too well.
The input jack the Ibnz is about 2 -3 inches long, the EMG supplied jack is standard, so the jack will not reach the outside of the guitar, unless its rear routed from the inside.
Gay.

Solution: Drilled out back input plate re-routed the jack, left the old jack in the side, I have an 'L' monster anyway, so the input is now on the back.

EMG vol/tone pots are prewired for 'convienience'.

HA! Ya, if your pots are an inch or less apart from one another, fucking assholes. Connected by a special capacitor, this is not easily extended.

Solution: Took a few minutes of head scratching. I swore a bit, and then BAM!! Simple idea. Turn up the tone knob all the way, tape it open, leave it inside the cavity, leave the old tone pot in the hole. Done.
I dont ever turn my tone down, fuck it.

Some new fucking knobs and the 81 and I love this thing even more.
My bro took some nikon d10(?) Macro's of it, and Im gonna get em on here soon.

Guitar knobs for real men.

toggletoggle post by KOK at Apr 1,2006 9:01pm
Those are cool knobs too, but I think Star Wars is gay.

you should have put 2 emg's in the guitar...1 passive / 1 active don't mix.

Yeah, neck pickup is not needed unless you need that tone for solo's. Im gonna wire up my ltd's in 1 pickup config.

60s in the neck sound like another bridge pickup. it's cool if you want to switchbetween tones. Trem picking and pinches on a 60 in the neck sound normal, it's pretty sweet. They sound badass in the bridge too.

My guitars all pretty much either have dual 81s or dual 60s.

KOK, don't you have an ltd horizon?

toggletoggle post by KOK at Apr 2,2006 10:16pm
ya I have a mh300 in red. 81 in the bridge of that as well.

Then why are you wasting your time with an Ibenhad?

It's an ibanez... those dings probably came stock.

=P

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Apr 3,2006 1:11pm
okay mister LTD!!! hahahahahah.

toggletoggle post by KOK at Apr 3,2006 2:32pm
I must say the Ibenhad plays and sounds better than my ltd.
Those dings were there when I bought it used.
I figd Id save $350 with a couple of dings I can live with....those can hardly be seen by the naked eye, but my brothers fuckin Nikon macro's are the shizz.

toggletoggle post by niccolai   at Apr 3,2006 2:57pm
It only plays better because the neck is this thick: |

Sell me your LTD : )

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Apr 3,2006 3:18pm
haha, yeah, my Ibanez is my best playing guitar, but my Winter, in it's stock config, is probably my best sounding
