never played here before...anyone have a review of the place or something to that effect?

yeah, its a kids roller rink. there is a small somewhat blocked off area kind of back towards the side of the skating rink where the bands play and the hold kareoke contests during the week. some video games and stuff, nothing all that exciting. it can hold a lot of people though, that's probably the best part
the show I saw there...sound was not very good. Typical hall setup... a PA (which may or not be provided by bands) for the vocals only really and the size of the room makes the drums disappear...and if you back up enough pretty much everything falls apart soundwise.
touring bands VS. Ma/New England bands...who would you rather have play?
i do care if my band plays this cause we can easily cut our set down to 5 minutes if needed be.
ive worked with the guy i went through for the supposed show before at this same venue with touring bands last year.
and it was a mess with all this booking gone wrong.
and it seemed to be that the local bands all wanted play long sets.
but if some bands(local or not) are going to get pussy hurt over being on this show...would i even care about seeing said band?
if you were excited to see the touring bands...and you want this show to happen, do a short sweet fucking energetic set, and be happy you were part of it and made every band happy they got to play at least 15 minutes.
What a bizarre lineup. I may go. Depends on if I can talk the woman into it. (It's at fucking Roller Kingdom...I think we'd die laughing before going into there. I used to fucking go there in 5th grade to play laser tag.)

Did The Departed dropped off? Or did the show get cancelled or something? I just checked The Departed's Myspace and it says ------CANCELLED------ in the slot for today's show.
And it sucks that the Concubine dropped off. I checked 'em out when I saw the thread title and they sounded pretty badass.
ashes of the lost are the ones who got us on the show(i think they were the ones who set it up, in fact) and they still have it listed...i'll check a couple other band's sites as well

Yeah, everyone but The Departed still has it listed.
we're pretty close with the departed...I think they've been having issues with cars, since they don't have a good means of communication to shows...so yeah, I think just The Departed cancelled
yeah we had to cancel, sorry to anyone who was going to see us...which wasnt probably many heh. yeah nelson had to go to GA to sign in troops who came home recently from Iraq.
he will be back on the 11th, all the other shows are ready to rock.
have fun tonight Sac, tell the guys in the concubine we said whats up.
all that "standing alone" that a massive amount of people are doing in the military...gar

what i don't get is that sully can write an entire album based off of "keep away, stay away, go away, keep the fuck away from mayayayayayayay" and then there next big hit single is "i stand alone"
cause and effect my friend
*edit* yea...that "there" should be a "their"...it probably would've been easier just to fix it but i'm already this far into typing what happened because i'm kinda discombobulated...i should just keep this going for as long as possible and see who actually reads it and realizes it was a waste of their(there) time. this reminds me of this one time. . . .
i think even more people had dropped off this by the time we got there...there was so much chaos that nobody had a schedule and bands just played whenever for random amounts of time
awaken me...something or other, i missed it - metalcore that was about 75% metal and only 25% core, the vocals were "eh" for mids-highs but the dude had some pretty good sounding lows. the bassist seemed like he hadn't been playing long but the guitarist and drummer played real well together
sacreligion - best fucking band under the sun imho...everytime i see these guys it's amazing
the hound - they used a lot of our stuff for their set, which was weird since they brought almost nothing in terms of gear. i didn't really know what to expect but they were pretty good(they're like a weird mix of grindcore, punk, and hardcore), definitely all young, but their singer(female) was fucking amazing, some HUGE gutteral vocals coming out of this tiny emo-lookin chick...i might have nightmares tonight
ashes of the lost - they tore shit up...they're amazingly tight live and are just a damn good metal band, with some breakdowns and offtime parts thrown in where it fits. they probably had the best sound, the amps weren't too, too loud and were in check with each other
didn't stay for the other bands...i figure if they wanna go on tour they can do more than hang out with cool scenesters in the parking lot while the other bands play
fuck that noise

so i went to this for a bit seeing my band was on it..and we didnt play.
yeah..pretty much some bullshit booking from the other part of the show.
the part of the show we had been booked under had robinson, see you next tuesday, the hound, and au pair.
anyhow..i only really went to see the two touring bands that played some great shit..did a battle set, the same thing us and the hound were to do on this show.
sorry for those that went for us and we werent there.
as for the other bands...i didnt see.
i took my harem of ladies out for drinks after this cause the ugly metalcore kids staring at them made them uneasy.
anyhow..if you want to see a show with its act together..may 12th at romans-tigers den.
