I kind of already made another thread for this, but here is a new one with the complete lineup!
Mouth of the Architect (http://www.myspace.com/mouthofthearchitect)
Intronaut (http://www.myspace.com/intronaut)
Century (http://www.myspace.com/century)
Ocean (http://www.myspace.com/ocean)
I wanted to go to that, but the wife had other plans if I remember correctly. I tried to see them at Dee Dee's last year as well and they ended up cancelling due to one of the dude's wife having a baby.
ocean from maine, doooooooomster, music for the folks who like to drink whiskey in the dark while keeping your shotgun close by

The Ocean sucks. It's funny how much 'The' can make a difference.

I heard that THE ocean just changed thier name officially to" the ocean collective", cuz we wouldn't change our name. Not sure if it's true.(don't really care) Get to the show early, we go on first and will be playing new stuff.
I am marking this down, and I am going to this show.
I will disagree that The Ocean sucks, though, they have some interesting elements in their music. I didn't want to like them either. But a few listens convinced me.

they sound like acacia strain only instead of having shitty breakdowns that last a few minutes...they last for alot of minutes. to me, that's no good.
i was thinking the same thing about century actually, but i'm also thinking if it wasn't for the super quanitized sampled drum sounds they might pull it off without so much complaint.
eitherway, lets stop talking negatively... haha Ocean and Mouth of the Architect rules.
Yeah, everything MOTA have done is golden! I'm looking forward to seeing Intronaut as well. I got a huge kick out of the EP and they're supposed to have great live chops (which makes sense considering their pedigree). Ocean never disappoints, and I really love seeing them at O'briens. I'm stoked their making the trek down!
Conifer's on the west coast, We hung out with one of the dudes from intronaut in LA. he gave us a ruff mix of the full length, FUCKING KILLER shit, I can't wait to see them!
O'brien's is my favorite place in Boston to catch a show. It just has a super chill, friendly atmosphere. The lineup has been changed around a bit, so here is the final order
Bump and tune in now at WZBC 90.3 FM for new tunes from the latest Grave, Hacavitz, Heresi, Kroda, Leviathan, and Skitsystme, as well as requests from Funeral Mist, Holy McGrail and the late, great Mithotyn!
Last bump and then I'm out. They are going to try and hold Akimbo off at Great Scott until this show is over, so try to swing by afterwards. It's going to be 12 bucks for both shows if anyone is interested.
alright, I'm going to walk down there... get some food too.
this show is going to start earlish since there is an akimbo show at great scotts. I'm thinking about heding over to that too.
Thanks for coming out everyone! Intronaut was heavy and tight as hell. I think that's the last time anyone is going to see them in a venue that small. The new Ocean material is fucking fantastic. Words can't really express how happy I am that they are using more of those incredible white noise vocals now, and this was probably my favorite time I've seen them in a couple years. Mouth of the Architect was phenomenal as well, one of the most under-rated bands in the game.
last night in allston, mass. there was the fukn best goddamn show i have seen in a long time.i have been waiting on the west coast knowing i was maakin a trip back home and saw this show posted and thought holy shit!!!this is goin to be sick.
MOUTH OF THE ARCITECHT
OCEAN
INTRONAUT
CENTURY
and there was like 15 people there.wake the fuck up people!!!! there are amazing shows just floating right by all of you.take advantage now because one day it wont be there.
that being said.here me now...
INTRONAUT OWNS ALL OF YOU!!!!
it has been a long long long time where a new band out there that makes my jaw drop to the floor in such amazment!!!! i have a new favorite band out there.plus the dudes are cool as shit, they like falafels too so hook them up.hahahaha
MOUTH OF THE ARCITECHT.sorry my spelling sucks but this band destroys it.again wonderful group of guys.there band moves me spirtually and creativlly.
OCEAN...great to see some localy homies again.i missed there west coast dates and am kicking myself in the nuts after last night performace.they played one 35/40 minute song.such horror and beauty can be created in such the simplest of expression and ocean is a band as big as there name.
well people i really dont send out to many of these bullitens but i had to have been extremly moved by all of last night bands to take the time to write this long as letter to anyone that gives a fuck hahahahahaha
and if any of yall see this tour comin thru town hellp these fukers out.all of them.by the merch.get them a drink.give them a floor/couch to sleep on.it aint much but when ya far from home it means the world.
This JUST IN! I have started a reservation on the sidewalk so the oppressed bead-wearers, who probably originated in VT, can drink their iced tea in freedom. Eventually, after enough protest, a casino might be started for the bead-wearing tribe, but it has to be near the payphones.
century: people were complaining about their almost constant breakdown drums, but whatever. One of the guitarists was doing some realy cool things, imho.
intronaut: wow, they were awesome leon del meurte is in yet another band. Wtf! The music was awesome too. Sometimes they sounded like isis or some almost jazzy space rock. After a few seconds, leon would bust in with vocals that ranged from isis to buried khanate to black metaly vocals. This really ruled. and will probably be touring with bands on the level of pelican or opening for sonic youth before you know it.
ocean: it's been a really long time since I've seen them. The singer looks completely different now. He's shaggy and scruffy and his vocals have followed. They have become a lot growlery and less of a hard, but cleaner yell. The "black metal" comparision might not be too far off.
Mouth of The Architect: they were very isis-like except the keyboards were broth forward in importance (they are just background in a lot of isis). I wish I could have stayed for more of their set cause it was just that good.
over at great scotts:
coctopus: rock-topus. this is exmembers of shanghai valentine and bones bridge. I was not really paying attention cause I was snapping pictures... But they were rock.
disapearer: I ran in for their last 10 minutes. It was awesome (per usualy). I think I listen to them a lot closer that I would for a normal band becuase my just waiting for jebb's other band to influence this band. Now, if these guys aren't on tour with tides and pelican by next summer (with sporadic lee renaldo shows) I will be pissed!
akimbo: they were hands down the show stealer of the entire night. They fully ruled and are probably the best and most different band on AT at this point. the best part of their set was watching the drummer. He ruled. It was also funny singing people grimace at me about other photographers (wade and dave).
probably one of the best things about the whole night was talking with jonah (raw radar war) for like 15 minutes. he's a killer guy. also he's from the generation just before me so he got to go to SO MANY shows that I sat at home alone on a saturday night, too young, too poor, and too far away to see.
I told jonah he "should have" posted the akimbo show.
why so people could have not gone out to another amazing show, i hate the fact that disappearer and mota played at the sametime. both bands are so fucking amazing.
grrr im so mad right now im gonna have play some socom !
The new Mouth of the Architect somehow perfectly blends Neurosis, Tool, Mono, and Khanate into once amazing fucking album. Seriously, I'm stunned at how much they upped their anti with the new album. If this band isn't huge enough for something bigger than O'brien's when they come back, I'll be suprised.
Too broke to go in, I checked out the OB's show from outside and everyone sounded great Ocean and Mouth of The Architect ruled too ba dmore people didn't go but every one there was cool shit
