saw it last night. Leatherface was the only up side of the movie he looked very fucked up. However They totally lost the point of the horror in the original film. The family in whole was weak. They upped the gore, added loud sudden parts to scare the audience. It had its good scenes and it was fun to watch but I was completely dissapointed, the ending was absolutly awful. |

the ending was bad, I admit.
but that movie was totally sick. I loved it. All the scenes were stunning and well shot. There were a few things I had issues with in the film, but for the most part, I was "on the edge of my seat" like I was suppose to be.
during the first 20-30 minutes, I was on the edge of my seat wondering if that girl would flash us. kidding of course, but did notice... think of how the movie ended and the rules that they tell you in scream... hm... too predictable.
we ran to best buy to buy the original, but they were out so I'm downloading it now.
all they had was 2 & 3, but correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the inner workings of the family not explored until the second movie? I thought that was where they did all the junk about them. |

well rev my point about the family was that they werent that involved in this movie. In TCM leather face had a brother and his father?? some say they were both his brothers, and the grandfather. What im saying is the reason why TCM was so odd was because of the cannibal family. When they tied sally up in the end of the film it was insane. This remake lacked that insanity, the cold feel too it. I just though it was too hollywood . Im not saying it wasnt enjoyable to watch it definaty was, but it didnt give you that unsettling feeling that the original gave people. I dont consider the sequels even part of the TCM series they were so pointless. |

it's been too long since I saw the original one...hopefully we'll be able to watch it before the weekend is over...depending on how long is takes to DL. |

I agree 100%. There was no way they could recreate that dinner scene in the end. Its just so bizarre and fucked up. The 2nd TCM was awesome as well. Just as equally fucked up I think. 3rd is decent, 4th they just tried too hard.
