well i would think that if the cable is falling out so easily then it's probably an old style ata100 cable and not the newer ata133 cables. if so then getting a 133 cable will show a big performance increase. unless the cable end is cracked a little, but it shouldnt be falling out. |

If she has an ATA100 drive a new cable probably won't increase performance. I'm not even sure if there's a difference between ata66/100/133 besides slight pin variations (missing/blocked pins). Beats me. |
