check the retirement homes... those always have cheap bustrips going everywhere and shit and you can probably get a sweet deal

You could catch the St. Lawrence + Atlantic train out of Auburn Maine, They close the boxcars before the border but don't actually check the train going into Canada, so you'd have to ride a grainer. That goes directly to Montreal, within a 15 minute walk of St Catherine. It's about an 18 hour trip one way, but a free ride. Coming back they check it at the border (Norten VT). No infared or car x-rays but hide well all the same cause it's an expensive ticket. ;)

hahaha, how much is the fine for hopping a train?

not much, but if those guys catch you (the border patrol) and ur a US citizen, it's anywhere from 500 to 5000. Keep in mind it has nothing to do with riding a train. Its that you crossed to border and didnt tell them. Normally though its anywhere from them laughing at you and telling you to leave and adding what time their shift ends, to a few days in jail and/or a fine of about a hundred bux.
well i went to the store in portsmouth and bought 2 one way tix for $100 .. since the return trip is 7 days way it was haf price..not too bad and it's manchester to montreal
