New site? Maybe some day.
they're not SATA though :-( |
I chuckle at your measly 7200rpm drives.
I rock the sata 10,000, bub. |
yeah, but they are perfect for an external case. I'm going to swap my 2 320gbs in a case for 2 of these since my work back up is getting full already. then I'm going to use my 320s at home in a case with2x250, 2x500, 1x120, 1x100 |
find me a 500gb 10K SATA for $150 and I'll feel bad. |
I dont chuckle however, at the fact of your being able to afford them....
2 kids + xmas = Ramen noodles broke. |
You must have like what, 14 computers? |
no, my laptop blew an inverter and my desktop blew a power supply.
I have my work laptop, my home laptop (hooked to an LCD), a MAC upstairs, and an old craptop from the 90s. I'm going to ditch the AMD 1900+ desktop (with the broken power supply) since it just sits there and pulls things off tivo/stores things. I'm going to replace it with this laptop with a broken inverter and then buy a new laptop.
all the harddrives from inside the broken desktop will be in a case in the basement hooked to my broken laptop with a 16' usb cable.
At one point, I was all about having 40905430458 computers, but it's just a waste now. I'm consolodating and making their foot prints smaller. I think carina is also getting a 17" laptop. the thing that will get in the way are going to be the LCD monitors. I just ordered a 24" one (well, carina ordered it for me) |

Macintosh = manlove.
Carina should take it away from you, unless she wants the sweet fragrance of penetrated rectum to again adorn the bedroom... |
I got it free and use is as a unix box/ dvd player. actually, carina uses it as a dvd player. |

Lord knows that what the reverend wants. anyway, fuck off, infoterror. |
it's funny cause the mac is under the bed.
some day infoterror will go to therapy for the sodomizing he suffered from his dad from the age of 6-15. his dad's nickname was Mac and his used to put it in infoterror's toish. |

WD Raptor? |
msd, think of all the pr0n, snuff and stuff!
wait a second... msd, do our cases support 500gb drives? |
Are you referring to our Aspire X-Dreamer II's? Or our AMS Venus enclosures? |
I'd buy one of these, but my motherboard fried recently and the new one I got only has 2 SATA ports. I already have 2 drives at the moment.. a 74GB raptor and a 300GB 7200rpm Seagate.
I want to build a HTPC so bad. I'm trying to pick out a 50 - 60" 1080p HDCP compatible TV (probably DLP). I need to figure out what to do with audio though. I suppose I'd need a receiver or something so I can hook multiple stuff up (HTPC, cable box, etc..) I know I can get an HDCP compatible graphics card, DVD sofware, and a BluRay drive at least though for the computer. |
I can't get my computer to do 1080p to my TV that supports it.. it only does VGA over the DVI port. |

WD Raptor? |
yep 150 gig. |
what do you mean? Do you have a 16:9 TV but the computer won't do a 1920x1080 res? |

I fucking love those things. Soooooooooo fast. |
my computer will do just about every resolution, but when I try to send it to the TV, it only shows 640x480 of it. |
Are you sure your card handles the res? I don't think my card even does 16:9 resolutions. |
I have a 256MB ATI all in wonder card that said that it did 1080p, 720p, etc... that's why I bought it. |
ahhh. I wonder what's wrong, then. |
no clue, just never worked. sucks.. $200 down the drain or whatever. I should just sell the card on ebay. |
do you have the right connections going to the tv?
or the right drivers installed on your computer for the card to run at those high res pictures? |
yes, I forget now, but I think it was DVI-i and I tried component.
I used some program called powerstrip or something like that. I tried using the settings people said to use, but it was a no-go. doesn't matter music now, does it? |
You should find friend with an HD TV with a DVI input and bring your computer over. |
I don't know which part of that computer doesn't work that you don't understand...
Also, I have not 1, but 2 HDTVs and it didn't work with either of them. on my 46", the most I could get was 640x480 and on the 32" LCD, I could get 800xsome other widescreen number. |
You didn't mention that, you bastard. I was thinking you could rule out the display as an issue, but it looks like you've already done that. |
don't you have every single post I've made memorized by now?
there is a HD forum and I was on there for a while trying powerstrip settings to get it to work... never got it working. |
the_reverend said: don't you have every single post I've made memorized by now? |
No, not since I lost my flash cards. |
you must realize the truth... there is no spoon. |
umm aaron...you said above you want to use them in an external case...not what you told me last night...also...since i lost my HD doesn't this mean i'm getting one now?
