i'm trying to save something on my pc...it's a file off the net

but it's ftp...

i choose save target as...but it times out

anyone?

i don't have ftp

Here's the easy way...not the computer people way...

Copy the file and save it in Paint as a .bmp or .jpg

when i right click on the ftp file..i can either open or save target as..if i try to open..it doesn't work..and if i select save target as...it times out...hmmm...i just realized it's a 5 meg file

maybe that's why?

just click on it?

if it's timeing out, it probably means that your user name got logged out.

i don't have a user name...

it's just a site and i want to view a file

FTP timing out? It allowed users might be maxed out, or allocated downloads at a time or something. Or it's just being gay. Or the files arn't actually working. Or peanut butter and cancer. Or you.

carina, if you are on FTP, you are logged in as a user.
granted it might be "anonymous"
try to refresh the screen while holding ctrl.

if you can do that, I'm not sure what the issue is.
sounds to me like a connection timeout issue.
timeout time is slated by the server you are connected to.

actually, if you are at work, at the site is using a cheap router, it might have NAT down for the routing of a list command, but not an actual get.
