New site? Maybe some day.
what bands are people going for? |
im pretty psyched to see the faceless, walls of jericho, despised icon, death before dishonor, red chord, impious, since the flood, psyopus, gaza, and the network |
oh and of course shai hulud. even though i have no idea who is gonna be doing vocals for them, anyone know? rev? |
i think im attending and working the oak knoll table. not sure what day or if both though. |
A few bands I wouldn't mind seeing, but not enough to plop down that kind of cash. |
likely not going. if i was to go - it would be for two reasons: nachtmystium and heckling the fuck out of the devil wears prada and instigating an genuine Inquisition |
I will be there on friday with carina. bright and frigggn early.
ryan, I was thinking the otherday, you might be the board regular that I've known the second longest. dyingmuse and I o back to the early 90's. but I'm trying to remember when we met...must have been the late 90s. 97-99. something to do with jen m or amy s (road runner) or george (pre-cm) or suzanne concrete. that puts you and silky in the same time period. |
yo for Behemoth, Dimmu, Psyopus, Skinless |
blue stole craigs job...haha. hope to see you there dude |
i do believe it was around 98 or so and it's entirely likely amy, george or suzanna had some part in it. i was interning at cmj with amy in 2000, but i'm pretty sure we met before that. was your earliest recollection of me "that asshole taping all the shows" or simply "that drunken asshole"... that could certainly assist in dating our first tender encounters
if i was to go to metalfest this year, it would be for the primary objective of hanging out with brother george (he would figure prominently into the false metal pogrom)

you cannot forget about skinless goatwhore, or lizzy borden and what about the surprise ended on the metal blade day? i wonder what thats all about i heard it was something big. |
GoatCatalyst said: likely not going. if i was to go - it would be for two reasons: nachtmystium and heckling the fuck out of the devil wears prada and instigating an genuine Inquisition |
thats what i'll be doing to the devil wears prada. |
oh, i'll be the one being forcibly removed during the devil wears prada.
seriously... if this were a previous year and i was afforded the ol' "all access"... it would take serious self-discipline not to get the ol' "Gong Show" style shepherd staff thingie and yank them offstage... while wearing a bonnet and smoking a blunt |
haha
i kinda wish a band like Municipal Waste would play this.
the place would be crazy |
or what you can do is during the devil wears prada act like the biggest idiot and scare all of the little girls that go there for them. |
everybody whos going to be there on saturday should get there before 3 to rage with Revocation. Come help us destroy the metalcore army. |
hell yes.
are you guys going on the main stage or upstairs? |
saturday? does that mean that revocation is on metalblade records now? |
either that or black market activities? |
NEMHF Roll Call
YEAH!!!!!!!!
...NO |
So I hear al this talk about "the devil wears prada" which made me think at first, what a gay fucking band name.....must be emo or hardcore. So I look at their myspace page,it says hardcore/christian/metal. Wow two of my favorite things. Anyway they have like 2000+ plays just today, wtf? Dude the haircuts alone freaked me the fuck out, then I heard the music. If they get main stage,I'll vomit. |
i wonder what other locals got added on saturday...so far ive heard about revocation and the miles between. im assuming since there are way less bands listed for sat than fri that more locals will get added. that would be nice. hope they announce the schedule soon. |
Shai hulud does have a new vocalist . Its a differnt dude from the one on "that within blood ill temperd" cd, he seemed to do a decent job when i saw them in boston. I think they actually have a new song up with him on vocals on their myspace. Its not bad |

we're playing 3 pm on Friday, not Saturday |
i was gonna buy tickets from someone.... buttt... they never sold them to me... ljsdfjlsdafjlkasdf |

dude, i totally thought your name was tony. how the hell did i think it was tony and not ryan? someone needs to punch me in the head. |
tony is the godless peruvian singer of catalyst |
yeah, but i thought you were ANOTHER tony. i'm going crazy.
oh yeah, i went to red scroll records the other day. turns out that rick actually booked my old band at the american legion in wallingford 2 summers ago, haha. |

i almost had a heart attack. |
where is everyone drinking? i needs to get my drink on. |
Wherever we park. I have no idea when I'm getting there. Kiddo will be in school and then we gotta wait to drop her off.
I heard Dimmu isn't playing... |
no good bands.
maybe 4 years ago |

i read on a message board that hes not gonna be on the next album, that they are getting a new guy. not sure which one its gonna be at this show. |
Does anyone know why Satyricon got dropped from this? |
because the fest needed more gay |
I heard that the label pulled back / dropped tour support for Satyricon. There ARE a handful of good bands playing, but nothing that compels me... besides sneaking in a slingshot and some fucking marbles for the devil wears prada |
I would be going to this, if I didn't have to buy a new car this week... but since I'm now officially FLAT BROKE, I won't be attending anything, probably for a while... |
this kid from NY cancelled a field trip his class has been looking forward to all semester to drive up for this event.
i wish they'd post the schedule already. |

don't worry, it's not the show itself will actually follow the schedule
yeah last year they didn't follow it at all
i had to make a deal with my teachers so i could make it to this event...
i didn't actually tell them it was metal fest i just said "something real important came up"
so yeah...
anyways i hope someone backs out of this kids van so i can get a ride with them but the chances of that happening are slim.
so i more than likely will be headed to this by myself both days. |

well, that kinda defeats the purpose of one!
anyone got any tips on how to get cheap beers, etc. etc?? At the Down show I bougth 3 @ $5 each! its a far cry from the $1 at the brick. PM or email me if you have any suggestions besides drinking out front (unless it's still tolerated). I don't want to take out a loan to get a buzz on.

sneak in nips or a pint. its the only way to drink cheap. re entry up until like 6 you can do drink across the street or at a local bar. not sure why i answered this, i dont really drink at shows.

I'm assuming it's legal issues getting into the country. Black metal bands should start floating here on inner tubes... |

the line up seems to have improved with dark tranquility and despised icon. didnt know they where playing. |
xanonymousx said: does anyone know if they have a deal for parking if you have a two day pass? |
I seriously doubt it. There will be less parking now that they've built a bunch of crap over what used to be a parking lot across the street from the Palladium. Your best bet is to park on the street (for free) a few blocks away and walk. |
you're right, there are parking garages but they are expensive. just go down the street and park and walk. |
I'm debating on going. Hmm. |
parking was 10 bucks at the lot behind the palladium last year. if you want to go cheaper there are plenty of parking garages in the surrounding area. i wouldnt trust being right on the road though. worcester is trouble. haha. |
I'm going to park at work and walk the mile. haha |
Holy double post, batman. |
Not to be an arrogant turd, but I think my plan of attack is pretty fucking brilliant: get to Worcester relatively early in the evening, settle in to the hotel, craft a respectable buzz/high, meet up with friends for dinner, get to the Palladium in time for Behemoth, indulge in some gentle mocking of the unfortunates who constituted Devildriver' and Bury Your Dead's captive audience and work myself up to a fiery pogrom to be levied upon the false. AIR-FUCKING-TIGHT. (not unlike premium Catalan nunpussy) |
what time is re-entry allowed until? |
cav said: parking was 10 bucks at the lot behind the palladium last year. if you want to go cheaper there are plenty of parking garages in the surrounding area. i wouldnt trust being right on the road though. worcester is trouble. haha. |
ya definitly i thin thats where i am going to park... if i wasn't going by myself i might of tried the street parking, but knowing my luck i'll get mugged or someshit. |
Maybe I'll go down, see Revocation, go back to work for a little bit, and then return for everybody else. I could use the hours. Gah, I hate early shows. |
i just heard beneath the massacre i thought they were a hardcore band turns out they're more tech death stuff... thats a good thing. |
whats the name of the hotel right off of 290? |
Darkk Tranquillity is not playing. They're in Sweden. |
if you park in the mall garage..it closes at midnight and if you stay until the end of the fest...it'll be past midnight and then you get to leave for free. aaron and i always do that and i know other people who do that as well.
is anyone getting a hotel?
aaron and i are staying at the hilton garden inn. nice room...with hi def tv, fridge, microwave and of course hi speed internet |
wow you are living it up in style huh? |

Worcester isn't THAT bad. I've parked downtown plenty of times, and I've never had anything bad happen. It's only when you go farther down Main Street toward Clark University and Webster Square that you have to worry. Just don't park anywhere off of Main Street past City Hall, and you should be fine.
BTW, the hotel by 290 that you're thinking of is probably either the Marriott or the Crowne Plaza. |
ok thanks
I'm leaving for this after class. |
DT isn't fucking playing???? GAY.
I'm staying at the Comfort Inn in Auburn. |

good choice. Auburn is right around the corner, and 1000x better than Worcester. |

that hotel is brand fucking new, it opened either earlier this year or late last year. |
Leaving now. See you bastards there. |
trying to deal with parking n shit. hopefully will be inside in 5 minutes. |
all and all day one was prety awesome except for all of the drunk bitches. the faceless was really good and the keyboard was balanced well so that it wasnt overpowering. i hadnt heard of beneath the massacre before but my friend wanted to see them and i was really impressed. reminded me of old decapitated. despised icon was cool to see but i wish they play more off of the healing process. revocation sounded great and had alot of energy.skinless sounded great ecspecially the vocals probably because the room is so big. behemoth was crushing from begining to end and sounded great ecsecially compared to when i saw them at sotu. |
