LTD v500 vs. IBANEZ vblade?
I'm thinking of buying a new "V" guitar, does anyone know which of these 2 is the better buy? I know the Ibanez plays well but im leaning more towards the LTD. i love the slim necks. |
|
is the ltdv500 the new dv8? |
|
they both look like they are trying too hard. |
|
Leave it to ibanez to rip off every guitar design. Ever. |
|
the LTD is going to have a thicker neck. |

I really don't like Ibanez axes, even though some of them play beautifully. Just looking at that headstock makes me want to break it. For some reason it just screams "mom bought me this with my giant Crate stack for graduation, and now I'm making your ears bleed at this VFW while my friend bellows about unity and our crew." (It's possible that I've gone to too many bad all-ages hardcore shows.) |

Everyone's ripped off the V shape. |

I would go with the LTD for the quality, better hardware, and lifetime warranty.
However, both of those guitars are extreeeeeeemely gay.
The LTD has a huge body and front routing/pickguards on Vs are bogus.
you might be interested in the BCrich IT v, which IMO is the only decent quality import to come out of BC Rich in the past 4 years.

That looks fucking tasty.

HAHA!!
this dude just called the LTD and ibanez guitars "GAY"-- then posts a BC rich with THE GAYEST HEADSTOCK EVAR--LOLZ!!!!!
i have an LTD DV8R and it is a great guitar with great tone- it has seymour dncan P/U's. JB bridge, jazz neck.
im sure the ibanez is also probably a great guitar, and i think im going to get one after reading the reviews for it on MF-- everyone loves it. |
|
Get whichever you think plays/sounds better.. who cares what brand it is?
I'd only buy the Ibanez if it was MIJ, but I think it's MIK? Not really sure.
Wait.. are you Renoir1 from HCAF? You aren't in character! |

Could be worse. It could have a giant 8 ball inlayed on it somewhere and have some ladies name written on it. |
|
go with the jackson kvx10. got it. love it |
|
That's kindof the opposite of what he was going for I think..
Looks like he wanted a fixed bridge and no heel. the kvx10 has a liscensed floyd and is bolton.. plus it's a huge step down quality wise.
and this thread is like 9 months old. |

I just bought one of these ibanez v's. this guitar plays great. I have a 1983 gibson v and the ibanez plays better. in fact of the 6 guitars i own the ibanez has become my favorite, and for $600 it's a steal. that's just my opinion. |
|
The Ibanez Blade is a neck through. It has a mahogany body and Dimarzio pick ups. Along with the Wizard neck. The only thing that the LTD has going for it are the EMG pick ups. Even with those you get 81's you would need an 85 or 60 in the neck position. I think I am going for the Blade because it is just a better quality guitar based on the research I have done. |
|
We can't stop here - this is Flying V country! |
|
I have the the Ibanez. It fucking kicks ass. The Dimarzio's, the thin neck thru design and the look is flat out awesome. I completely recommend them. |

ONE YEAR BUMP
Only LTD is real, BTW. STILL. |

the LTD's arent front routed stupid ass they just have a pickguard screwed to the body.
and that's the ltd DV200 anyways- not the ltd DV8R-- it's got a bolt on neck unlike the DV8R which has a neck thru design.
out of the DV200 and the ibanez i would get the ibanez... unless you were comparing it to a DV8R then i would get the DV8R.
....and dude-- a BC rich?.... not gay?...... c'mon dude....... lol |
|
Man, always pick the LTD first! |

You're right. They aren't front routed.. now.
The early runs of the korean-made ones were routed in the front. I owned one. Stupid ass.
And BCR is obviously silly, but I'm impressed by the neck construction on that Vi and they are built very well.
Not sure why any of this is up for debate, I wouldn't buy another V from ESP OR Ibenhad
|
|
dude i have the V and my friend has the ibanez the ibanez is nowhere as awesome as the v it has the most amazing sound ive ever heard out of any of my guitars fuck ibanez i have 3 of them |
|
Only an Ibanez Pro-Line V is real:
I've got an RG style pro-line, and it is literally the best tone I've ever gotten from a guitar. Blender switching is awesome. Split bridge and neck pickup together FTW.
|
|
That does look legit. (Still can't get past the damn headstock, anyway.) |
|
I just noticed the one in the picture doesn't have the blender switching.
Mine is like this one:
with the buttons for switching pickups. It basically allows you to make every possible combination of pickups, including all three on and combining bridge and neck together.
If you can find the pro-line v like that you're in the money. And saddest thing is, they sell for like $200. |
