Got treated like shit as a bassist in pretty much every band I have ever been so I moved on to guitar playing.

I get to be "the new guy" in a band called Ouch, playing out soon. I gots respect there, so can't complain! Strange thing is, three of them were previously bass players. I guess there is a stigma about it, I dunno...
