Apparently the Celts are trading Jefferson, Telfair, Green, and Ratliff for Garnett. #17 is truly possible for the first time in 20 years.

The Garden's going to be a lot more fun this year, methinks.

sucks to get rid of Big Al and Gerald but this is the only deal worth it. PLAYOFFS BABY!

toggletoggle post by jesus  at Jul 30,2007 1:00pm
i love it, talk about the sports mecca
sox tearing it up, pats look insane and got plenty of swagger this year, and now the C's have pierce ray allen and KG on the court at once? JESUS

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Jul 30,2007 1:13pm
those 3 are great and all. But this trade leaves the celts with nothing but those 3. I dunno...they'll definitely regret trading Jefferson, maybe Green.

I would agree with you, but we're going nowhere by holding on to players that COULD BE great and not getting players that ARE great.

toggletoggle post by da chief at Jul 30,2007 1:22pm
until xMikex or Scott says its true i dont believe this

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jul 30,2007 1:22pm
the bottom line is that Ainge needs a winning season or the shit's gonna reeeaally hit the fan this year. so he's gonna string together whatever he can to get that done.

my name is Scott, so believe it.

i had heard a rumor that rondo would be going in the trade, but i hope that doesn't happen. this trade would give the celtics a 2 or 3 year window to win a championship and then go back to rebuilding. hopefully they can pull it off.

toggletoggle post by da chief at Jul 30,2007 1:43pm
the celtics have been rebuilding for the last 20 years

At this point I think I have to agree with this. Something's gotta give.

i just heard about that rumor. if we can manage to keep big al and rondo, this is going to be awesome.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Jul 30,2007 2:43pm
ok, I'm totally on board if they can swing that. Go with the "Garnett never won shit and he's getting old" angle, Ainge.

Do something right.

He'll get caught up in a dog fighting scheme in no time...

toggletoggle post by tylerl  at Jul 30,2007 8:32pm
i think giving up big al for garnett makes sense, by the time al hits his stride pierce and ray allen will be pretty old. makes more sense to have three great players all in their prime. this automatically makes them a serious contender in the eastern conference

Funny video. My grandfather once said in regards to basketball: "...they used to shoot the ball, now they just jump up and drop it in..."

hahahaha, he's so right.

toggletoggle post by Dankill at Jul 30,2007 10:23pm
It looks like this is without question happening.
The problem is they STILL haven't announced who is going to the Wolves.
I heard the rumor about keeping Big Al by giving up two first round picks, along with Green, Ratliff and Telfar.
If they pulled that kind of deal off, it's a steal and the Celts would be even more dangerous.

AHHHHH i cant wait

Boston sent the Minnesota Timberwolves forwards Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes and Gerald Green, guard Sebastian Telfair and center Theo Ratliff, two first-round draft picks and cash considerations.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Aug 1,2007 8:41am
with Ricky Davis and Mark Blount already on the Tims it's like an all ex-Celtics roster.

its the C's luck that when they start practicing he'll work out great but blow his knee out the first week of the season.
