can't wait for this, solid show for the return of all ages @ the brickhouse. i predict joshbrethren will do his best fred durst impression, aaron will horrify mothers and nuns, and mj-xii will overdose.
im here now. the doors jus opened and there are already a lot of people here. I don't see most of the band people yet. I wonder how long til they get here and this show starts. I got people to kill.
if in life, the: The lighting here is different now. No more pentagram behind the stage, but they started off using it right away (something they used to do but then stopped doing). Makes it more interesting for me. The new song had a lot more shit in. Not meaning that in a bad way, they just had the work shit in the song. seemed like a short set for them. They usually have more time to move, flop around and kick each other on stage. The singer said something about a surprise at the end. I was expecting a RATM song or something, but there was nothing. people in the back stared doing the one man safety mosh that people have picked up for the non-mashing NH state.

hivesmasher: don't know why this band isn't more widely loved/known outside of the DBH. They pretty much are as techy as pig destroyer when they are in their more "deathmetal" moments. I think that there needs to be a SWWAATS, Dysentery, saint_jude, and hivesmasher tour. hm.. now that aaron lives in allston, they should play obriens. This set proved it once again. The guitar doesn't have the same pd-tone, but you can imagine if you recorded everything overdriven that it would have thbe same effect. Place random and space moshy chuggs. I think their last song was the only on that was moshly er.. Mostly moshy throughout the entire song. Aaron split up his time with the stage and the floor. He would be on the floor leaning into everyone and then go on stage to toss a cup of wateron the crowd only to return back down to the newly slicked floor. I thought at one point, I heard "last song" so I rushed swapping lenses and had an epic fail. droped flash on ground, batteries and diffuser dome went every which way. I suck.
brethren, the: people were all practicing their best dance moves that they perfected just last week in their bedroom. The reason why, so you don't look foolish moshing it up for the triumphant return of the brethren. They are like spring break or summer vacation. You know, something that comes around every year like clock work after going away for a while and then are saved by some nerdy kid played who in the end gets the girl, pwnds the jock kid and wins the respect of the entire school only to fail in his actor aspirations after that movie and end up in gay porn and then on a reality show. The antagonist is probably ben stien. Don't worry, once you get a real jorb, there is no spring break, summer break, or winter break to save. Just the unending numbness from day after day of the same thing for the next 40 years until you retire and get a part-time job back at mcdonalds or where ever you originally worked as a teenager. Oh damn you ben stein! For in the end, you won and we lost. The worst thing about their set was I got water rocked into my shoe and now it's all soggy. They had a lot of fans packed up at the front singing along. Even that little pj'd punk singer from PFAP sang (next time refuse unless they give you tons of sick reverb). I was really surprised when most of the crowd was up and moshing. I thought that the mosh was verbodden in NH. Good times. No one hurt. And lots of people singing along. Oh and their first 2 songs were completely different from the rest of the set and they added a sampler.
[band=MJ-XII]: one problem seeing this band is thinking back to the good old pfap/aviary days when I used to see all these guys and their fans in bands at that armpit of a venue. I was talking tim lang about the whole vehemence guitarist going the way of the gay, but it was cut short when someone cut the chese. P u. As for the band, they headlined which I didn't expect. Jonathan's added a nord synth to the mix. I think that he saved up bottle caps or stole it from his pimp. They started off with some bigbig 70's riffs. The center of their set was soft and then hard on the other end. Kyle rolled straight out of bed fo this show and ended their set with some micless screaming.
