Glad I didn't order the embroidered COMPOSTED FlexFit's yet, that order was going in this week after I asked the band if it was okay.

4 bands x $150 each = $600 for mastering.

I'd be paying well over $2000 for pressing, plus stickers, posters, hats, shirts, etc. And giving all the bands 150 CDs x 4 = 600 CD royalty from a 2000 CD pressing!!! Fucking 30% is not good enough to divide between the bands?

It's not all about the money if you actually carefully read my email to you. Thanks for being professional enough to post a private email on a public forum. We are not ashamed of the decision we had to make nor the reasons behind it, but it would have been greatly appreciated if you vented your frustrations via email before calling us fags and assuming it's all about money on a public message board. It's one thing to be upset, disappointed and/or frustrated with this situation, but to handle this matter the way you chose is far from professional.

We are not asking for thousands of dollars here. The main issue here is principle, not dollar amounts. You agreed to pay for some portion of mastering, which is not a hell of a lot to ask of a record label. Usually a record label pays for most, if not all, of a recording. While we didn't expect our recording to be paid in full, as this is a split release, we expected some finances to get the job done and done right.

As far as the messages go I referred to in the email, MDF was still far in the future from the time I sent the messages.

We understand that you've got 4 bands to supply, and 30% of the CD pressing is a lot for you, it still doesn't change the facts that we can't afford to finish the tracks and you decided to change your mind about financing at least a portion of the mastering.if you want to blame us for bailing last minute, just keep in mind that you changed your mind last minute on a very key issue. The inconsistencies taking place in this situation make us worry and we didn't want to chance anything. We know some things happened that were beyond anyone's control, so don't think we're blaming you for everything.

I could keep going but I've got too much to do this morning. We apologize to anyone let down by this turn of events, but it was inevitable.

And John, we are not looking for a feud here. We made a decision that we feel is best for us and informed you of it in a private, professional manner. Now that you've put it out in the open the way you did, who knows. I'm not here to argue, but i'm also not going to allow very important issues to Composted slide under the rug. It would have been impossible for me to address all those issues in a reasonable and efficient manner over the phone. In my experience, having matters of this importance in writing/type is a much better method of communication. Phone calls and meetings in person are much better for hashing things out after issues are addressed.

I'm glad to hear that you wish is luck and still support us, but you've got a strange way of showing it.

I already said it wasn't just money. Fuck. It clearly states in the email several reasons. And what part of "can't afford" to pay more does not register with you? Don't make it seem like we're fucking Vital Remains. None of us have money, half of us don't have jobs, and we're thousands of dollars in debt from tour, buying new equipment, paying for our studio and paying for this recording so far, amongst all the other bullshit we have to deal with on a daily basis. We're dirt fucking poor. And even if we had money, you backed out of an agreement to pay for at least a portion of the mastering. You didn't feel it was necessary to honor that agreement apparently, and that is the key aspect of your actions that finally led us to the final decision.

And so NOT getting on the CD and selling those 150 makes sense how?

I never agreed to any $$$ coming from me for mastering, I said I would figure it out. I talked to the other bands and they are all chipping in $150 each, sorry you bums can't come up with that between all your guys.

You also would've had hats, shirts, posters, stickers and other stuff to make $ with for your band-fund, ha.
