Beating Contra without the Konami code was one of the crowning achievements of my young life.

I'm not a huge fan of many games beyond 32bit. Yes, that include Halo and Call of Duty4.

i haven't bought a video game in 10 years. the last game i bought was nhl 99 for the pc.

so, go on ebay and get a n64.
Done.

Anyone that favors older 8/16/32 bit games, either is too young to appreciate how far gaming has come, or a fuckin N00B.

No way man, I completely disagree.

The new shit is all flash and no substance, the old shit HAD to have substance as there was no flash to be had. I was in on the ground floor with this shit, had the Radioshack pong for my TV, and I prefer that over fucking HALO which is for people not getting laid. People get humped over Pac Man, but who gets humped over WOW?

Contra 4 for the DS is.. Shattered Soldier for PS2 was. Apart from that the series hasn't been the same since Hard Corps. Neo Contra was cool but still very different from the old games.

I really really want to play it, but don't have a DS and can't afford one right now. I may buy it and just borrow a friend's DS for a while until I beat it.

Actually I am really into old school console gaming and have a Genesis and an SNES that I play all the time. I have a ton of NES games and I'm gonna get a Yobo soon so I can play them.

I also play tons of Wii, 360, and PS2 due to my roommate's having them. While I love the newer stuff and there are some truly phenomenal games coming out nowadays, I just happen to prefer side scrolling shooters, action games and platformers to modern 3D games. 2D fighters are my absolute favorite..
