I had a pretty fucked up Friday this past weekend. I was at home, reading, smoking a little weed, and drinking a little beer, nothing serious though. And i started to feel this terrible chest pain. Every time the chest pain got worse, i got waves of dizziness that shot over me. My arms were getting tinglier by the minute, and shortly after i couldn't feel them at all. Every time i tried to breathe it felt like i already had a lung full of gas, but without any air. This caused some concern, so i called an ambulance when i started shaking uncontrollably. First ambulance i have ridden in a long time.

Apparently it was something due to my lung, nothing to do with my heart. We didn't come to this conclusion till almost Saturday afternoon, where i still hadn't slept yet, or left the ER for that matter. After extensive testing they believe that i am getting the awful pains from drumming and that everything else was a serious anxiety attack. I have never had an anxiety attack before, but i have known plenty who have. It was terrible, i thought i was finally paying for all the years of treating my body like shit. It's terrifying. I feel my mortality now more than i have probably ever.

I was supposed to see some people this weekend, and meet up with some other people on sunday to hopefully get some other people an amp, and so on, and so fourth. I managed to blow everyone off again. I am going to have to write individual appologies for it, but i was just out of commision for the entire weekend. Hopefully peeps are understanding.

Anyone that wants to talk about my ordeal..... come to my show tonight at the squeeling pig in mission hill!! Boarcorpse in the Hizzie!

no worries, hope you're okay. perhaps it was because the weed you're smoking is too strong? haha

I had a similiar issue with my old bands. My hands would become very numb and stiff! I went to a hand doctor and all he said was the hard an strenuous playing and also the muscles in my hands were getting bigger. I guess to much hard an fast playing..that when at rest my hand would constrict... It is scary and never could imagine drumming could do this...

That sucks man, glad your alright, giggity giggity!

I died back in May of kidney failure. The paramedics revived me, but I ended up in a coma for two days. Shit sucked. certainly a wake up call. A cross between dehydration and pneumonia were the culprits in my temporary death.

yeah, it DEFINATELY was a wake up call. I hope it is a loud enough one, i am tired of "waking up" to realize i been taking some pretty big chances, time tio change my plan of attack.

I should be fine now. I guess the majority of what went on was me frieking because i knew how badly i had treated my body throughout my life, and believing that maybe my chest pains were heart attack/stroke related. Now that i know it wasn't that serious, and that if i want to avoid said feelings in the future, i just gotta take care of myself, i will be fine. I think.

I'll take care of you <3

cigarettes are lame and a total turn off. they are no good for a finely tuned drummer body like yours jim.

Glad you're on the up and up, man.

I mean- I don't know you, but I feel like I do.

That's nice...i guess. I would say you probably know me better than all the type-A sycophants i share my 8-6 with every Mon-Fri.

And yes, butts are a total turn off.... i dunno if i wanna hear you say that about me though Jon..
