New site? Maybe some day.
it sounds a lot more pantera-y.
the best thing about LOG's old releases are the drums. they stand out in the first 3 CDs (though I don't like the compression they did on ashes of the wake), but the drumming on this CD isn't stand out at all. |
eh aint bad but i'm thoroughly unimpressed. |
watered down...just like the last one. |
i HATED the last one. i love Ashes of the Wake, but its just too polished. i miss the As the Palaces Burn sound. |
this prob wont be bad live though when i'm blackout drunk running around in circles |
i would probably like them more if they were even more PANTERA-y. Everyone raves about their drummer, and he is good, but not good enough to merit listening to them. |
he is more than good, that dude is a machine. |
7 posts to make fun of the title fail. |
this thread failed. this thread is a pussy. |
I hate this band.
I will fight them or I'm a pussy. |
burn the priest....their only halfway decent album |
he is more than good, that dude is a machine. |
well, we can agree to disagree. Don't get me wrong, i am not claiming to be better than this guy. He makes a living off music, tours the world doing it, has PLENTY of drummers who worship him (I know a bunch, and they are good players too) he just doesn't do it for me. |
wait, so are you saying one of there albums is better than the band? That's a confusing statement. I guess i understand, but it's confusing. I thought you were referring to another band. |
Burn the Priest is the name they had before Lamb of God, if i remember correctly. they were slightly different before. |
slightly.
I'm just talking about the new disc. If we are talking about the band themselves, they are all super nice guys. glad they are doing so well.
I'm just not feeling this or the last CD. |
IMO:
Burn the Priest - okay, showed promise
New American Gospel - excellent
As the Palaces Burn - very, very good
Ashes of the Wake - okay, subpar compared to the last 2 records
Sacrament - a heaping pile of shit
I have very little hope for this band in the future |
BURN THE PRIEST is a cooler name i think. |
I remember hearing burn the priest for the first time. I was in ninth grade gym class and decided to not to change for gym. So me and this kid were listening to it on his walkman. I was floored. Then it all went to shit. |
IMO:
Sacrament - a heaping pile of shit
LOLZ. |
never got into this band. |
I saw these guys once, never really got into them either. |
well, take my word for it, I guess |
i dont see whats so bad about Sacrement though...besides that redneck song its a pretty solid album. |
Descending is the only song on Sacrament that was good. I haven't listened to it in a long time though. |
I'm an a avid fan of Lamb of God/Burn the Priest.
Except for this album.
And the last album.
Because they suck...intensely.
And I don't care what anyone says, Chris Adler rode his bike 10 miles to the space, practiced all day, and rode his bike 10 miles home.
To Yeti's point, that man is a machine. |
IMO:
Burn the Priest - decent, didn't listen to it much
New American Gospel - liked most of it, didn't listen to it a lot, thought it showed promise
As the Palaces Burn - mostly repetitive crap with songs that sound the same, but i liked a couple songs
Ashes of the Wake - terrible repetitive crap
Sacrament - never even gave it a listen. heard part of the redneck song one time and didn't let the song finish |
New american gospel is the best, especially the song with steve austin on it. |
i think NAG is the worst next to Sacrament. i could never get into that no matter how many times i heard it. As the Palaces Burn is the best. i love the Burn the Priest work too, that song "Buckeye" is so fucking awesome. |
The best thing about LOG's old releases are nothing. |
i remember when they played the Metalfest in 01 with Corpse and Dimmu, i had no idea who they were but i saw them signing autographs and Randy was dressed like and acting like a fucking faggot, so i avoided them. i was pleasantly surprised when they played, though Randy is still a faggot. |
it sounds a lot more pantera-y. |
Is it looking random guys in the face and saying, "You talking to me?" in a heavy Italian/faux-Louisiana accent? |
the music isn't terrible but the vocals for this band is just an abomination. i hate how compressed he sounds, fucking obnoxious and hack. |
agreed. i like how on the earlier stuff you can hear his voice crack, and it actually conveys emotion. Ashes of the Wake has a cool sound, but you're right, its so compressed and tinkered with that it has no heart to it. i think what he does with his voice is great, but do it without layer after layer of processing. |
