Hey if anyone here is from New Bedford or close too, hook a fucker up with a ride, will gladly pay 25 bux for gas, and ill also throw in some beers. Fuck if the cars full ill ride in the trunk. Well post and let a guy know. Names Andre by the way.
tix will be purchased today. This will be fun, i lived accross the st. from the ICC and the only time i went there that whole year was to see Hope Con.
oh my bobby, you should have. Pulling Teeth simply exploded on that stage. The have the sound guy from upstairs at the palladium and this is one of the best sounding ICC shows by far. All the people plus the monitors plus the speakers on the ground. Their entire set only had one song where people were sitting around not really moshing. True there were a few spots were the slower structures parts had people head bobbing, but they were so good. I am super nervous with my show and everything. But after these guys I already have a smile on my face.
Right now, there are already 8 photographers on stage. And wheeler told us that during the last couple bands there probably won't b any photographers allowed on stage... Maybe I will be very early for my show.

lol that sucks PT and Converge were the two main reasons I wanted go.
Rise & Fall: good set but 1/2 their songs showed why they get the name "coverge lite". I remember the last show at the elks, I was scared. This show was a lot more tame in comparison. They played a bunch of new stuff cause they are here recording. I wish there was an emoticon for people folding their hands cause that's what it was like for those new songs.
Speaking of people folding their hands, coliseum is on.

coliseum: people really seemed to enjoy them and really seemed to stand still for them. They sounded awesome. Exactly what you would expect from coliseum. What sucked was not being able to get to the drummer to take close ups. Probably the best drummer on the show. The basist's faces were hilarious.
the stage is so packed. idk how the photog situation will pan out. let's see. one of the other photogs gave up already.

Dammit!

Ceremony: kids love this band. As you know it, their set was insane amounts of energy surging from the crowd. I felt that energy in the rocking PA I was riding as kids went ape. The singer almost never put the mic to his mouth. It was always on his throat, forehead or in the audience. Man, they really sound a lot like integrity.it was like integrity-lite. Their CDs are so much more punky than that. the audience's screams just sounded like people yelling BLAH!!!!!
Just talked to jim and blue. I guess there is a sign out side that says "9:30pm curphew" so I can run out during converge's last song or 2. Yeah!
hope conspiracy, the: not the most rockus set I've seen from them. They had the guitar player from clouds like I said. That dude is usually 100% outrageous. He was more reserved. Not his band I guess. They crowd response was excellent. All those voices in the crowd were like the hope conspiracy choir. Angellic sort of. They played some new songs that people didn't know and were "meh" about. Im sure once they know them... During an old song (off code blue?) they turned on blue/green lights. Symbolic. And for the last song, people crawled over people for the stage. This is one of the first tims that it seemed they were gracious for the crowd response.
I was completely surprised by that. they cut out a ton of staple songs that they hve been playing lately to bust out that, the new song in the video (though I couldn't here the vocals), and one other new song. when they said "this goes out to all the friends on stage that we have known for 10 or more years, the saddest day" I almost lost it. the entire audience did the same thing. I had one of the boston phoenix cam-corders at my face level... I probably screamed loud enough to be picked up on it.
i completely agree rev. I was totally relaxed for the entire time EXCEPT the saddest day. It was great, but i wish i had heard something from WFCC or TPD or maybe even CAK. Wow it was sweaty and hot.

After being involved in the Boston music scene for ten years, I'm out. Leaving the country. Thank you Rev for always bringing the noise. Converge was my last show, and I think the door slammed me in the ass on the way out. Fuck yeah.

Jim? if so, it was nice to see you again. have fun going back.
brian, were you in that sweaty mess last night? I missed ya in all the bromance.
no sir...I didn't go. I haven't seen Converge in about 6 years. And at that point, I only liked metal and spent the whole set laughing at the sheer number of people who were being kicked out of metalfest during their set. Big fail on my part.
I went but knew it would be sold out so ended up at a nearby bar. I was not that disappointed until I saw Converge and Hop Con's set lists. It's like they got together and said "Hey, let's pick the best songs off all of our albums and play them tonight."
yeah, i guess. And i guess it's just the "old" in me talking, but they ALWAYS played the saddest day when i used to frequent their shows. I just wanted SOMETHING off of WFCC or TPD.

Yeah, after I wrote that, I knew I'd get that response.
Dudes are not going to be playing Petitioning or Forever songs with frequency anymore, or at all. Saddest Day is a set staple, but they don't always play that either. In terms of Jane Doe and on, I think that is a solid selection of songs.
In terms of Hope Con, Yes, best songs. It's mostly Death Knows Your Name, and IMO that is their best record.
PS: The Saddest Day only makes Converge set lists when Rusty is stomping dudes faces off in the pit.
post by RustyPS NLI at Mar 24,2009 10:47am
I've seen Converge 4 or 5 times, and they've only played The Saddest Day once in those times, which was I wanna say 5 years ago
Saddest Day is definitely a top 5 favorite song of mine
I do agree with you that some Locust Reign, My Great Devastator, Love As Arson, Color Me Blood Red, Conduit, etc. would've been amazing though
that sort of pisses me off. I'm no better than anyone else, but why are they there taking up space if they aren't doing anything with them? Like Todd. He needs to do something with the 0938109831028230183 photos he's got. I only ever see them on band's myspaces. I hate flicker, but he needs to man up and get a flick account or something.
Ya rev, i saw you get booted outta your spot for someone else, and i just kept thinking, is that dude gonna share his pics? You had to fight for those photos.
ouchdrummer: If you're referring to the 2nd half of converge's set, rev texted me and said 'wanna switch spots?' so I got his spot and he went back towards the drummer area I think.
rev: Todd has been saying for a while he needs to do a site and is going to put a book out with photos. He just gets too busy and never gets around to doing it
booted? no, I txt'd futurebreed cause he was across the room and wasn't getting me shining my illuminator at him. he's like 4'9" so I figured he'd want to shoot from the side that I was on. I HATE standing in the same spot and I ate photogs that stay in the same spot for the whole show. If he didn't come over, someone not-shooting would have stepped up where I was. I went backstage and snuggled up behind reid (human buffet)
I hate flickr too.... Sucks that I went with that when I started, 'cause now I have around 80k photos up on there.... Doing a fresh upload of those to a new location would be a bitch
just write your own script to do it?
get black widow and spider off all the photos/pages
http://softbytelabs.com/us/bw/ and then write a script to do it?
you could probably do it in an afternoon with flickr's speed

missed Pulling Teeth.....fucking bummer about that. I used to have Into Oblivion by Rise And Fall and thought it was boring, but I liked the way they sounded at this show.

we had to cut 5 songs out of the set that night due to time constraints.
