die slowly is a beautiful and sad thing.

as green shoots blossoms in spring, so to, a gilded leaf falls to the ground in autumn.

my dog chelsea, the 'grey ghost' ( a weimaraner) is soon to go.
her form is not quite like i remember her when i first got her. no more the brilliant coat of a deer, she has grays sparcely intermingled, maybe a dozen or so tumors that protrude from her in various spots.
her eyes are cloudy, her pulse is faint and slippy.
though her shell is failing her, her spirit burns bright,
she is still keen to routines and people's energy / intention.
smarts have subsided and given way to wisdom.

maybe you have experienced similar times, a blend of awkward beauty, the penultimate juxtaposition of 'finite and infinite.'

i want her to know its ok to leave...

I really really really hope carina doesn't read this.

That's awful, man...

I've never watched a pet die like that but I hope things get better.

This really stirred up emotions. I'm one of those animals > people people and to say my pets are family would be an understatement. Taking my ferret to be put down last summer is probably the worst experience of my life. I still don't think I'm over it. My thoughts are with you, Nick. Be well, brother.

I know how you feel, I lost my cat of 18 years a couple weeks ago and he was looking extremely weak when he passed, cycle of life

I lost a dog of 11 years last year, so I know how you feel. My condolences bro.
