I really only like her first 2 albums. They are great. Anything after 1991 is okay, anything after the mid 90s is meh. I'd I'd rather listen to other stuff.
It's a little more rockish, but probably my fav band of all time is "THE GATHERING" from sweden. I'm obsessed, all of their record sound totally different, and i worship them all. I've listened to them at least once a week for probably 9 years now. That's a lot.
I've been getting into it. I'll admit, I got the CD thinking it was going to be like Strapping Young Lad, I surely wasn't expecting Enya. I had almost forgotten that Townsend was a singer by trade!
Always thought it was funny that they were from Gothenburg (goteborg) and were popular when the Gothenburg melodic death metal scene was on the rise. I wonder if any goteborg bands covered Ace of Base

Hey Jim, I'm saving up to get an entirely new drum kit and hardware in the next two months. Do you think you'll have the free time to start jamming again? I think I'd like to make more atmospheric music with you, like we did on that one particular jam that we happened to record. I don't think we should enter into the project with any preconceived ideas of what we should sound like. In fact, I'm ok with not playing metal at all. Having said that, I'm also not opposed to playing heavier stuff as well.
Fuck the funderground, fuck socializing at shows, fuck banging heads, fuck BobNOMAAMRooney, only Enya is real.
good, quit all your meta bands and go make ambient music and leave the metal to the metalheads then

OMG WE ARE ALL SO IMPRESSED THAT YOU GUYS GOT SO ELITE THAT YOU OUTGREW METAL AND MOVED ON TO MORE MATURE AMBIENT SOUNDSCAPES LIKE ENYA. I bet youre the same type of people who think they sound more knowledgable because they use the word FILM instead of MOVIE.

Acutally, being elite is appreciating both ambient and metal simultaneously. Great music doesn't exist in only on genre, and if you thought so, then you are a false.
Film > Movie
FAGGOT.

Why do you think Varg Vikernes incorporated ambient passages into his music? Even dedicating entire tracks to just ambiance? Fenriz, one of the most enthusiastic metal fans in the entire world also made a few ambient recordings of his own under Neptune Towers? Get with the program, you're already like 2 decades late.

I do appreciate many different genres, I just dont feel the need to go out of my way to make sure everyone knows that. Oh and film is an inferior term, considering the fact that many movies are made with digital formats these days and involve no actual film. FAGGET

You mean considering the fact that movies made in digital formats "these days" are absolutely piss poor? Quality film making died a long time ago, so I win, and you lose again FAGGOT, FAGGET, FAGGIT.

I thought Eastern Promises was a damn good movie. But youre right everything sucks these days, we should all just live in the past and bitch about the present, rather than trying to change things so the future doesnt suck too. Good call.
Use of the world "digital" in any discussion = GTFO
stupidest post ever

There is no way for people to change the flow of technological advances. You're either with it or you revel in the past. Just remember that the more reliant we are on technology, the more we lose certain traits and qualities that makes things organic and real. This applies on all artistic fronts, as the advancement in technology assists any artist or filmmaker in an area in which they otherwise would have worked harder for.

Anyway I can see that this is going nowhere, but I will just say this: I love film, took several related classes in college to learn more about it. I also love metal and ambient music, so much in fact that, generally speaking, I tend to spend more time listening to it than I do using my love for it to elevate myself above other people. As for bobnomaamrooney, I heard try hards like him are the reason rich horror quit music. I will leave you miserable fucks to your arguments and be on my way now.
