I like this as a low risk move, but Satan couldn't score with the talented penguins centers last year, so I doubt he'll do much with the B's. He doesn't have much left to give, but if he can pop a few in and sturm keeps scoring, I think the team will be ok. As great as kovalchuk is, they'd have to trade a couple of good roster players, plus the Toronto picks to get him. Then he walks at the end of the season. Great goal scorer but not worth it. If Satan doesn't work out, I'd like to see them make a move similar to the recchi acquisition last year. |

BOSTON (AP)—Unrestricted free-agent left winger Miroslav Satan(notes) signed a one-year deal with the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
The 35-year-old Satan had 17 goals in 65 NHL games last season for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He added a goal and five assists in the playoffs to help the Penguins win the Stanley Cup.
Selected to Slovakia’s Olympic team on Tuesday, he has 354 goals and 367 assists in 1,012 NHL games with Edmonton, Buffalo, the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh.
