...And anybody who’s in the know these days will tell you that Union Square in Somerville is the new hip place to be with events like the Rock ‘n’ Roll Yard Sale, the Fluff Festival and The All-American Beard & Moustache Competition.
In my 10 minute walk home through Quincy Center I see a crackhead in statue of liberty costume, the church that john adams is buried beneath, half a dozen restaurants representing half a dozen asian cultures (and varying degrees of sanitation), and a clique of homeless 20 somethings that only shop at the independent whole-foods-ish-but-cheaper grocery store across the street from me. Then I walk up the stairs into my apartment full of rotary phones and third reich literature.
