Boston area folks: Myself and my GF host a monthly DJ night at the Independent in Somerville's union square. Metal isn't the only thing on the menu, but I certainly play a fair share. I tend to lean towards dirty thrash, doom, early Earache stuff, some 70's hard rock / psych shit and pretty much anything in the Venom/Motorhead vein. We also tend to play a fair amount of power pop, post-punk and real deal fast ugly hardcore. If any of this sounds like it might be your bag, come on down and check it out some time. It's a nice bar, with a great menu. No cover. The next night is Wed. the 14th @ 10pm.

I will cater what I play congruous to how many fans of a particular genre actually show up to this shit. I've loaded up my picks with Bathory, Hellhammer, Venom, Tank, Dark Angel and newer shit by the likes of Morbus Chron, Miasmal, Ignivimous, Villains, Midnight, Speedwolf etc. Fingers crossed that more metal kids turn out.
