For the_reverend, It should also be noted that they have every SHE-RA episode, too.

The non-violent battles and Scooby Doo sound effects are worth it.

I bought the whole dvd collection a few years ago for like 7.99. Shows not nearly as good as anyone remembers it, believe me. Too much stock animation. Only live action Master of the Universe is real.

the Conan cartoon in the early 90s was better

agreed.

Skeletor is the only redeeming quality because he says some ridiculous shit

If anyone approaches He-Man today with a serious manner then FAIL. Shit is good for laughs.

that happens with a lot of old shows. i found a Garfield DVD set a few years ago, which used to be one of my favorites as a kid. i was all excited, got high with a bunch of friends, and soon found out it was so unbearable even nostalgia couldn't keep our interest for more than a few minutes.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jul 12,2012 1:12pm
lol @ getting high and watching Garfield

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Jul 12,2012 1:21pm
the US Acres episodes were more entertaining, but even those were grating after awhile.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jul 12,2012 1:31pm
It's stale, slow-moving slight humor. I cant inagine it being exciting high.

Garfield the show was terrible but if you can get your hands on a copy of Garfield's 9 Lives - either the TV movie or the graphic novel - it's actually pretty cool and drawn in a bunch of different styles.

My thoughts exactly. I have the dvds. The show is boring watching it as an adult.

i don't recall the movie, but the Halloween special still rules.

Are you talking about Garfield & Friends? If so that's the dumbest thing anyone (trolls included) has said on this forum ever.

I bought the first part of the DVD set and I couldn't even get through it... I think I managed maybe 5 episodes till I got totally cheesed off.

For some reason, GI Joe holds up a bit better than He-Man and Transformers, though it's still pretty weak seeing Cobra dudes parachuting to safety every time a plane blows up. I think it's something about the variety and quality of Cobra dudes, the Dreadnaughts, etc. that remains kind of bad-ass despite the show being very kidsy overall.
