Wow, here we go and it's only 9 AM. On behalf of the 3 or 4 cool elites in CT I just want to say that I think these fests are great. I think people who want to see regular shows with 4 or 5 bands that "fit" on the same lineup is really selfish. The lower booking standards get the more shows bands like Murrum can play and everyone wins. The only thing better than a black metal band is 12 black metal bands. How do you not like this??

Its a problem when all 12 of the black metal bands are poser garbage
I take bigtime offense to this. This is our guitarist Mörg aka Benjamin Hapgood just a couple years ago pre-Murrum. Does he look like a "poser" to you????
Why is this one big joke to you? You don't like Ben's photo. Fine. Here's our bass player Heretic in 2005 playing with his old band What Weapons Bring War... WAR motherfucker which is what you're bringing on yourself if you've got something to say about a Norma Jean shirt

there's nothing wrong with going from liking norma jean in 2005 to playing bass in a grim bm band 8 years later...

Perhaps my haphazard localization has left some dialogue garbled in translation.

Yeah…..that's not me playing bass for WWBW. I don't think I've ever been that thin. I'm not going to argue "black metal credentials" or whatever the fuck this thread is about. That's just not me in the picture. Yes, I was in What Weapons Bring War…..I replaced that Norma Jean guy on vocals. While I was in the band, we released the most death metal material WWBW ever did. I'm okay with that. I joined the band after Angelus Infernus split up, because I wanted to keep making music, and they were the only local group around that needed a vocalist. If that makes me a poser, then whatever. I did what I had to in order to keep myself behind a mic……so sorry.

I like "what weapons bring war" since I saw them @ metal fest...maybe 06-07 I forget. Are they no more?
They went on to do another demo after I left in early '06…..I lost track of them when I enlisted. They split up sometime in like, '08 or something.

anyone that truly embraces the facets and ideologies of black metal wouldnt just throw their integrity out the window to play in a band that has nothing to do with said ideologies and has members whos lifestyles and personalities also conflict with those of a black metal lifer.

It was 8 years ago, and I was in the band for like, 7 months. Sue me.

HELL YEAH SEN. GOTTA DO WUT IT DO TA ROCK THA MIC. AINT LIKE U STILL BE ASSOCIATIN WITH NO METAL POSERS YAAAAALL

Also, anyone who spouts off about the "facets and ideologies of black metal" and actually uses the term "black metal lifer" should probably undergo some hefty self-evaluation before putting down others.
If you've got to preach to the other kids about how "cool" you are, you're obviously missing the point.

Seriously, everyone knows black metal is about digging up graves and watching Sons of Anarchy.

The Legion stuff is a moot point…..I left that group over a month ago. What they do is their business, but it's no longer my problem.

you weren't into BM 8 years ago so you've got no business in some silly bm street gang pretending youre kings of nebm

You obviously don't know me, or know what I was up to 8 years ago, beyond making the mistake of singing for a middle-of-the-road death metal band for 7 months, and I'm not going to get into some "black metal street cred" pissing contest with you. You don't like me, fine. I really don't care either way.

dave emerson was on black metal sabbatical while he was in the metalcore band

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. I am glad my namesake son has abolished his stay in this Legion. He will surely preach about real Satanism through his occult rituals with Murrum and their overnight frontman. I, for one, welcome this.

I think the Legion and Murrum suck with or without one another.

this is so fucking gay I don't even know where to begin.

No one leaves the NWO Wolfkult. The Legion of Hall, Nash and Hogan is for LIFE. If you want out, you don't get out, we TAKE you out. Expect the corner boot choke of retribution and the jackknife powerbomb of JUSTICE when we catch up with you.
My friend Ross was in the band for a bit so I went to check them out opening for Internal Bleeding in Hartford. Not the worst band but definitely in the not-special "we looove you Shadows Fall" class, but they got a free pass for having Ross and one of the dudes from The Failsafe Device.
Now if we're gonna start a CT metalcore discussion...
Shit might be weak ATM. But this wasn't always the case. Less is more. Deadeyesunder used to be one of the best things we had. So heavy. So unhinged. They knew how to Satan. The falses ruined everything. Burn them.
Deadeyesunder is the maybe the only band I can think of that dropped off the face of the earth for years, resurface with a different lineup and actually produce awesome material. I still listen to Cursed Be the Deceiver every once in a while. Incredible record.
