According to the band, the album's title is meant very positively and thematizes both the journey through existential darkness and the ability to break through it, while the lyrics involve making the most of life and not getting caught up in negativity. The sound combines the group's latest material with some of the more traditional melancholic elements seen featured on previous albums.

Recorded at Denmark's Hansen Studios with Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Heaven Shall Burn), the album is an "extremely complex and well-structured release...bursting at the seams with powerful melodies, as well as moments of deathlike brutality" (New Noise). Pre-order your copy today along with a t-shirt based on the haunting cover art designed by Mircea Eltemie (Soilwork, Illdisposed) via the Prosthetic webshop.

"The Kings of Danish Metal have returned with another incredible record...(it's) still very much of what new and old fans have always loved in MERCENARY, only this time the band can be seen traversing new realms of melody in an almost old-school metal approach (in their very own modern way, of course). The songwriting is as air-tight as the riffs, and the vocals are staggering in their range and versatility. Whether into the old, the new or the middle ground, any who call metal a genre they love must be into this band." -- Matt Heafy (Trivium)
