It's not that I never moshed, stagedove, sang along, or anything. I'm responding the overall tone of the article which just has a yuppie/hipster/faggot feel to it.
Shit like this: "You absolutely must make your way to the front row of any show." I started to go to hardcore matinee shows when I was 15. I didn't always need to be up front. There were always bands that I thought sucked and went to the back/outside for.
The only one that applies to me is the different place I stand at shows, which is near the bar area. Never really wanted to be at the front of the stage as people smell like shit sometimes, and dont like being bumped into alot fuck that.
