I've been content to just let the dust settle on this one. I usually think "tradition" is a poor excuse for continuing something stupid. Then again I'm not a Skins fan.
FWIW, you can make a case for the Braves not being offensive, the Cleveland Indians, the Chiefs even the Chief Wahoo logo. But "Redskins" is for real racist and even as a kid I never figured how they were getting away with it.
